I show him the water bottle and head back to the counter. As I climb on the stool, my study of him continues.

His strong hairy legs.

His big hands.

Long fingers grip the spatula.

I remember the feel of them squeezing my inner thighs. Brushing up.

Up.

Up.

My core tightens.

Heat compounds in my chest.

I roll the water bottle up and down my cheeks.

Hawk turns slightly. “Like what you see?”

“Hate it.”

“You’ve been staring for the past ten minutes.”

Busted. “You have eyes in the back of your head now?”

“No.” He sets the spatula down and faces me. “I’ve been watching you too.”The hunger in his gaze warns me that he’s about to burn the pancakes.

I hold out a hand before he can storm over and throw me on top of the counter. “I’m not breakfast.”

“Dessert then.”

“We just woke up.”

“It’s never too early for dessert.”

“I’m still mad at you.”

“And I’m still taking you.” He tilts his head, blue eyes simmering. “We all have our priorities.”

“Hawk…” I warn.

He stops in front of me, his hands encasing my waist. “You’re tempting me.”

“Anyone can walk in.”

“Let them,” he whispers, sending goosebumps up and down my skin. Lowering his head, he plants a kiss right below my ear. “Let them see so they know who you belong to.”

My heart thuds. “Cocky… bastard.”

“You’re making me blush, Speedy.”

“Only you would consider that a compliment.” I spread my thighs so he can step between my legs. Rocking my hips against his, I huskily inquire, “Since when did you know how to cook?”

“I taught him,” Linda says, entering the room with a basket of laundry.

I push Hawk away. “Linda!”
