Not handsome.

Not hot.

Beautiful.

It’s a lethal grace.

Elegantly dangerous.

His eyes are two blazing mirrors of the sky.

His nose is straight and long.

His lips…

Heat blazes between my thighs. They’re dark pink.

Fuller at the bottom.

Promising an experience worth dying for.

Tingles dance up my spine as Hawk reaches out and slowly pulls the rag from my mouth. His long, slender fingers graze my lips just barely, but it’s enough to make me jolt from the power of his touch.

“What should I do with you?” he mumbles, rising slowly.

I open my mouth to answer, although, with the way my thoughts are whirring, I don’t even know what I’m about to say.

“Stop.” He holds up a hand. The rag dangles from his grip and lies limply in his hands like a mouse squashed by a mountain lion. “If you want to keep this rag away, just keep your mouth shut, Speedy.”

I lower my brows. “My name is Shanel.”

“Every time I hear your voice, I get this ringing in my head.” He gestures to his skull and winces as if he’s hearing that mystical bell now. “So just… be quiet.”

Hawk is as obnoxious here as he is in the movie.

Nice to know.

“You realize this is kidnapping?” I spit pieces of the rag out of my mouth. “You can’t just snatch people up and drag them away.”

“That’s where you’re wrong.” He rounds my chair. “I can.”

I glare at him.

“This is my territory.”

“And this is my body.” I gesture to my five-foot two frame and then to my lips. “And this is my mouth. You don’t have any right to touch me.”

“I didn’t touch you,” he says dismissively.

“You, your minions—same thing.” I wave away his lame defense. “This territory might belong to you, but I don’t.”

“You get caught stealing my bike and yet you’re still so defiant?”

“I wasn’t stealing it.”

“Hm.” He turns away from me and grabs the hem of his vest. With one fluid movement, he yanks it over his head.

I blink rapidly.
