Hawk’s thumb on the sensitive skin of my stomach is sending a whirlpool of tension straight to my core.

“Only you. All of you.” His lips tilt up. “All the time.”

He’s the sexiest man I’ve ever met.

And that growling timbre of his voice…

Abort mission!

I can’t do this.

Shooting out of Hawk’s embrace, I jump away and sling an arm over my stomach.

He blinks in alarm.

“I think I—” My fist comes up to my mouth. “I must have eaten bad tuna for lunch. My stomach’s acting up.” Shuffling backward, I waddle into my room. “Let’s take a rain check, okay?”

“Speedy—”

I slam the door on him.

A tortured breath hisses through my teeth.

My entire body is burning like I stepped into molten lava. With one stroke of his hand, Hawk melted my defenses and he did it with effortless finesse.

Slow applause jerks me out of my thoughts.

I swing around and spy Catherine sauntering toward me, a knowing smirk on her face.

“You sure showed him.”

“Shut up.” I stalk away from her. “I’m going to be alone for a bit.”

Catherine laughs but respects my wishes and doesn’t follow me.

Thirty minutes later, she knocks on my door.

“I still want to be alone,” I call.

“Too bad.” Catherine enters and tosses a bag on my bed.

A bunch of stomach flu medicines roll onto my mattress.

I sit up. “You know I’m not actually sick. You didn’t have to go out and buy these for me.”

“I didn’t.” She gives me a meaningful look.

My jaw drops. “Hawk?”

“He said he’d call you.”

My eyelashes flutter.

I overturn the bag.

Expensive chocolate, candy and a horde of medicines fall out. There’s also a note. It’s got a teddy bear holding a heart with the words ‘Feel better soon’.

I melt a little.
