“Why’re you getting in my cab?” She asks as I move in behind her.

“I’m taking you home.” I answer and when she frowns, I quickly clarify. “Not like that. I’m just making sure you get home okay. I don’t follow drunk girls home from parties, you know.”

“I’m a big girl, I can get home by myself. Besides, I think you’re more drunk than me. Maybe I should make sureyouget home okay?”

The Uber driver glances in the rearview mirror as he drives. Probably nervous one of us will puke in his car. I’m sure he’s seen it all if he does jobs around campus.

“You’re probably right,” I laugh, my vision a bit blurred from the shots and beers.

Sassy pulls my shirt over her head and scrunches it in a ball in her hands. She rubs it along her chest and my eyes are drawn to her breasts, which are still visible through her top.

“Mmmm,” she sighs, tilting her head back, exposing her neck. She dabs lightly along her collarbone. “I still have beer all over me.”

She stops to look at me, and I reluctantly lift my eyes from her chest.

“I’m so wet,” she murmurs, and then licks her lips. I can feel myself growing hard just looking at her. Without thinking, I reach out to pull her in for a kiss, but before I can, she laughs and throws my balled up shirt at me.

“You’re so easy. I could have you breaking your own rule of not taking drunk girls’ home like that.” She snaps her fingers in front of my face.

“Damn.” I fall back in my seat and swipe a hand down my face. “You’re good.”

“So I’ve been told,” she smiles impishly. “But I have my own rules and I don’t date colleagues.”

The Uber slows down in front of her building.

“Who said anything about dating?” I banter back.

The car stops and Sassy reaches for the door-handle.

“I don’t fuck them, either.” She says sweetly and opens the door.

“I’ll walk you up.” I unbuckle my seatbelt, but she gets out of the car and slams the door shut in my face.

“No boys allowed in the dorm.” She waggles a finger at me through the open window, then turns and walks away. I watch her perfect ass as she leaves, then lean my head back against the seat. This girl has me hook, line and sinker.

Chapter9

Sassy

The first thing I notice when I wake up is the pounding in my head. The second thing I notice is the smell of stale beer. Then I remember that stupid cow tipping her whole drink over me because I was kissing Colt.

I groan and roll onto my back, hoping that will-power alone might get rid of this hangover. Tracing a finger lightly over my lips, I think about that kiss with Colt. It was so hot, I probably needed a beer over me to cool me down. I only did it to help him out, but from the second our lips met, I forgot about my true intention. The boy kisses as well as he dances. And if this girl is so crazy after just one night with him, I’m going to take a guess that he’s good at other things, too.

My tummy somersaults at the thought of what Colt might be good at and I frown at myself. What has gotten into me? The guy is so far from my usual type that he should be invisible to me. So why couldn’t I get that kiss out of my head when I was falling asleep last night? And why do I feel such strong urges whenever I see his bare chest? Maybe I should just sleep with him and get him out of my system, I muse to myself. Too bad I recently swore off all men.

I roll back over onto my side and open my eyes. Taylor’s bed is empty. She has an early class on Mondays, so she often sneaks out without waking me. I’m usually hungover on a Monday. I work at the club on Saturday nights, so Sunday is my Saturday. But Monday is still Monday, which sucks.

I pull my phone off my nightstand and look at it through squinted eyes. No messages.

Sitting up, I groan again at the thumping in my head. There’s no way I can do classes today. I look at the sun shining through the window and have an idea. I scroll to Colt’s name on my contact list and text him.

Too hungover for school. Cut classes and come to the beach with me?

Three dots appear on my screen to show he’s replying. Then they disappear. Then they reappear. It happens several times when finally, all he sends is one word:

OK.

I laugh, shaking my head at him.
