When we arrived back at the yacht, Jude docked the Jet Ski and helped me on to the boat. Knox and Graham were nowhere in sight. Jude and the others headed up to grab lunch. Tonight, we were going ashore to drink and dance at the Descanso Club.

I needed a moment to collect myself, so I made my way to my cabin to freshen up. The captain announced that we were making our way toward shore and would be docking in about an hour. Before I reached my cabin, a large presence loomed behind me in the narrow hallway. His body brushing up against mine. His scent wafting over me like a warm, summer hug.Knox.

I sagged with relief, even as I worried Jude or someone else would see us. And now that I knew Jude had feelings for me—or at least thought he did—the situation had gotten a lot more complicated. I’d told Jude I wasn’t interested in rekindling our relationship, but the idea of breaking the news about Knox’s and my relationship seemed almost cruel.

“Come with me.” Knox opened the door to his cabin, and I followed him inside.

I headed for the balcony, the fresh air beckoning to me. I needed to calm down and center myself before I said something that would make this situation even worse.

“What’s wrong?” Knox asked. “Did something happen out there?”

I watched a boat as it sped past in the distance, frustrated and filled with pent-up energy. For once, I almost wished we’d told Jude about us sooner.

I didn’t even know how to tell Knox what Jude had said or if I even should. There was only one thing that could help me relax right now.

“I need…” I sighed, melting into his touch. “I need you.”

“You have me,” he said, caging me in with his arms. He pulled my hair over my shoulder to kiss my neck. “You’ll always have me.”

I dropped my head back, resting it against his chest. Taking a moment to ground myself.

“We should’ve told Jude.” I inhaled slowly and let it out even slower. “We should’ve found a way to tell him sooner.”

“I agree,” he said. “But we can’t tell him now. At least not while we’re on the yacht, and he’s fresh off his breakup.”

I squeezed my eyes shut. “I know. But…” I hesitated, not wanting to drive an even bigger wedge between Knox and Jude. “He told me earlier that he wants a second chance.”

“Mm.” He held me to him.

“You don’t sound surprised,” I said.

“He said as much last night, but I’d hoped it was the alcohol talking.”

I turned to glance at him over my shoulder, my eyes wide. “He did?”

“Yes.” He gripped my chin lightly, pressing a kiss to my lips. “And I feel bad for him, but he’s not thinking clearly.”

“I agree. But this only makes it even harder to tell him about us.”

“Kendall,mi cielo, we will tell him when the time is right. It doesn’t matter who does or doesn’t know about us—” Knox pressed against me, his hard-on digging into my ass as one arm came around my front, banding me to him “—you’re mine.”

I nodded, leaning into his touch. Into him.This.

“Say it,” he commanded, perhaps sensing what I needed without my even verbalizing it. He brushed his fingers over the swell of my chest. “Who does this heart belong to?”

“You,” I whispered, melting into him.

He kissed my neck before pulling my bikini bottoms aside and cupping my mound. “Who does this pussy belong to?”

I moaned, loving the way he’d taken control.

“Kendall,” he growled, his voice low, dangerous in my ear. His body bracketing mine above the ocean.

“You,” I moaned again as he began rubbing my clit with the lightest of touches. “Only you.”

“That’s fucking right.” He circled my clit faster, making my legs quake. “You like taking my cock, don’t you?”

“God, yes.” I leaned my head back, loving the possessive way he held me to him. Like I was precious. Irreplaceable.
