CHAPTER

Archer

Laying here with Sloanein my arms felt so right that I had no idea why the hell I thought staying away from her was the best choice, because it wasn't. It was the worst. She was so responsive to my every touch I laid on her, and to my words of command. She’s the perfect woman that could give me the sub inside of her that I craved to dominate but had the strength of a woman I respected. My phone ringing drew me away from my thoughts. Reaching over for it on the nightstand, I tried not to wake a dozing Sloane. "Jennings here." I answered in a low voice.

"Archer, it's Detective Hamilton. There's been another attack at the club tonight, but this time the woman didn't escape. Unfortunately, she was found dead. I know you were looking-into Bryn Weston's death and asked us to keep you in the loop if any new evidence came to light."

Getting out of bed, so I didn't disturb Sloane, I headed to my office, shutting the door behind me. I rubbed my hand down my face. "Where did they find her?"

"She was found in one of the dungeons downstairs that was closed off for remodeling. But somehow this guy got a key and let himself in."

"How did she die?"

"Just like the Weston girl, savagely beaten, and then strangled. All the blood vessels in her eyes were broken, and there's bruising around her neck, just like Bryn Weston."

Anger rose up in my blood. "And let me guess, nothing was found on the cameras?"

"No, he kept his face and body positioned away from all of them. I spoke to the club owner about contacting you guys to put in some hidden cameras, that way maybe we can catch this sonofabitch."

Knowing that we were the ones to install the original set; that being how I discovered the club. I made a mental note to call Seth, who was the club owner as soon as I got on the road in the morning. "We did the original install on those cameras, so he knows how to reach me."

"Yeah, that's what he said, and that he was going to get in touch with you tomorrow."

Thinking to myself whether or not to tell him about my conversation with Summer tonight, I decided to keep it to myself for now until I got a hold of the results on the fingerprints from Kelsey. "Okay, well thank you for letting me know Detective, and I will call you if I hear anything on my end." Hanging up, my mind began to turn over, trying to think of any possible suspect. Between him knowing where all the cameras were, and the brief description Summer gave me, I couldn't rule out anyone. It could be any of the staff, up to and including Dominic or Seth.

Hearing the sweetest sleepy voice, it took me away from my tragic thoughts. "Archer? Is everything okay?" Sloane asked, pushing the office door open.

Getting up, I walked over and wrapped my arms around her, kissing the top of her head. "Yes, everything is okay. Nothing for you to worry about. What are you doing up anyway?"

She yawned and wiped her finger over her eyes. "I woke up and you were gone and then I heard you talking on the phone to a Detective you said?"

Brushing her hair off her face, I kissed her on the lips. "It's just the case I'm working on. He had some information to give me," I turn her around and guided her back down the hall. "Now, let's get some sleep, shall we?" After I’d gotten her all tucked in, she was out in a matter of minutes, leaving me with my mind to wander and sleep to evade me. After our morning love making session, Sloane left for work, while I made the drive into the office. Deciding to get the call to Seth over with, while I was by myself, I scrolled to his name in my phone and hit the call button. “Hello."

"Hey Seth, it's Archer."

I heard some shuffling on the other end and then a door shut. "Archer. Hey man, I was just about to call you. We had another incident at the club last night, a woman was killed."

"Yeah, I got the call last night from Detective Hamilton, said he had talked to you about installing some hidden cameras to catch this guy. Is that something you want to do?"

He let out a heavy breath. "It's not something I really want to do, but it seems this asshole is using my club as a dumping ground for these women he's beating up and strangling to death, so that leaves me with no choice in the matter. I can't have women being killed or hurt for that matter in my club, it will run me out of business if people don't feel safe here."

And I knew just how true that was. "Okay, well, let me get a few things squared away at the office this morning and then I'll be over there later, say one o'clock?"

"Sounds good, I'll see you then." Hanging up, I pulled into the parking garage. Getting off the elevator, I head down the hall to my office where Jeanie, my secretary, greeted me. "Good morning, Archer. Here are your messages. And Slade asked that you come see him once you got in this morning." As I read over the messages, I noticed the there was one from Summer saying that she got to Montana okay, and left her number to reach her at. "Thank you, Jeanie. I'm going to check a few things and then go see what Slade needs."

After pulling up a couple emails and answering them, I headed back out and make my way to Slade's office. Knocking on the door, I walked inside, seeing him tapping away on his computer. "There he is." I heard Dalton call out as I pushed the door further open to see him sitting in the chair in front of Slade's desk.

"What's going on, guys?" I asked, shutting the door, and taking the chair next to Dalton.

"We just wanted to welcome you to the club."

Looking at Dalton with confusion, I heard Slade, cracking up. "What the hell are you two talking about?"

"Why the pussy whipped club, of course," Slade said, laughing harder.
