He looked around my room and said, “Your room is really small compared to mine.”

“Yes. But it’s fine. I don’t require much space and I don’t plan on doing any entertaining in here.”Hint. Hint.

“There’s enough space for two to enjoy a meal, but this doesn’t look like a place you’re going to want to live in for long. I can talk to Shaun about getting you a larger room.”

“Please don’t. I’m happy with what I have. Like I said, there is no reason to have anything larger.”

“You also don’t have the best view. Bet you can’t even see the sunrise from here,” he stated.

“I’m not here on vacation. I’m here to work,” I reminded him.

“Kinsley, you are not going to be working 24/7. I want you to enjoy your free time. There is so much to do at the resort. The beaches are amazing. There is surfing, boating, horseback riding. You name it and they have it. What do you like to do in your free time?” he asked.

That was a good question. “I…haven’t had much in the last several years.”

He cocked a brow. “You’re kidding me, right?” I shook my head. “Damn it. Another reason I’d never work for the FBI. Not only can’t I stand answering to anyone, but they demand too much. It’s like they own your ass or something.”

“It’s not that bad,” I replied, smiling at his impression of the FBI.

“Well, it’s not going to be anything like that here. We will meet with a family or two a week. Then we will do our research to see if we can locate their loved one. Besides that, I expect you to be doing something fun.”

“Fun. Got it. I’ll add it to my calendar,” I grinned.

“I don’t believe you. So, I guess it will be up to me to make sure you’re having fun.” He tapped his chin a couple of times then said, “I think we will start with having dinner on the beach tonight.”

“Excuse me, but if it is myfree timethen I’d like to decide how I want to spend it,” I said and crossed my arms.

Didn’t faze him. “Technically you’re paid a salary and it could be viewed as you being on call at all times. But I would really like it if you would join me for dinner this evening.”

That was better. Didn’t feel as though it was an order. Still not a good idea. “Draven, I’m not sure…”

“It’s just dinner. That’s all,” he blurted.

Not sure if he was trying to remind himself or not because I’d seen how he looked at me. I liked it, but it wasn’t helping me keep my mind where it should be. On work.

“Fine. Dinner. But I’m not staying out to watch the sunset as Shaun suggested,” I stated firmly.

Draven smiled. “Baby steps.” He got up and said, “I better go and shower. I’ll see you in the lobby at nine. TJ will be driving us.”

“Why do we need a driver?” I asked, puzzled.

“It’s resort policy. No one leaves the resort without an official escort.”

“Draven, we work here. We’re not guests. Shouldn’t we be the exception?” I asked.

He shook his head. “Not in Tabiq. See you at nine.”

Once he left my room, I called down and ordered myself a pot of coffee. One cup wasn’t going to cut it.

Dinner on the beach. I know better than this.

That didn’t mean I wasn’t looking forward to it. It’d been too long since I’d done something like that. I’d been out with Diana, but this was different. Draven was a man, a very sexy man. I’d have to be dressed in my business suit for this dinner to keep romance out of the equation. The setting alone was perfect for a couple to start falling for each other.

I let him talk me into dinner. Now it’s up to me to make sure it’s the first and last one.
