“I agree with you. I only shared it with you because you’re the closest to her. If you see a change in her, don’t disregard it as nothing,” he said.

“Odd that a businessman like yourself is giving such advice. How did you get so in tune with others' emotional status?” I asked.

“I have no problem answering that. When I married Morgan, she was already a mother. Her son Tyler is autistic. I needed to learn new behaviors in order to be the best father to him that I could be. One thing I was taught was about triggers. For Tyler, it can be loud noises, very bright lights, a new environment, or even sleep deprivation. It is my job not to put him in situations that might cause a problem, but also to be more aware of his mood to know if he is having an episode,” Shaun explained.

“You never mentioned Tyler being autistic.”

“There was no need to. I just wanted you to know that everyone has their own triggers. I’m sure you have some yourself that you may or may not even be aware of.”

I raised a brow and said, “I don’t think so.”

He laughed. “Draven, you’re a laid-back individual, but I’ve seen you snap. Not sure what triggered it, but you have lost your cool. I’m sure somethingtriggeredthat response.”

Fuck you.Hated him for being right. There were times when I had proven to have a short fuse.

“Point taken.”

“Trust me, Draven. That was not meant to be a dig. I’ve been known to be an asshole myself on several occasions. Usually, Morgan is the one who brings it to my attention,” he grumbled. “Thank God I married an angel because I have no idea who else would put up with my stubborn, arrogant ass.”

“No argument there,” I teased. “But if you’re through here, I do have things I need to handle today.”

“Another dinner date on the beach maybe?” It was his turn to bust on me.

“That too. But this is something I need to speak to Reesa about,” I stated.

“Have you had an update from Bennett?” he questioned.

“Not yet. He said he’d let me know once he heard from Finn.”

“If that bastard didn’t die of a heart attack, and he was murdered, we will have a huge problem,” Shaun stated.

There was a knock on my door.Busy place this morning.“Are you expecting anyone?” I asked Shaun. He shook his head.

I got up and walked over to answer it.Kinsley.Opening the door I asked, “Is everything alright?”

She chuckled. “Funny, that’s what I usually ask you when you show up unexpectedly at my door.”

It was nice to see her in such a good mood. After the conversation Shaun and I just had, I was concerned. “So, what brings you to my door?”

“I took your advice and went for a jog, well, well to be honest it was more of a brisk walk. On my way back, I noticed your lights were on and thought maybe you’d like some coffee.” She held up a pot that somehow, I hadn’t even noticed until now.

“I’ve already had some, but please, come on in.”The more the merrier.

She entered my suite and then stopped dead in her tracks. “Sorry. I didn’t know you were working.” Kinsley handed me the pot of coffee and said, “We can talk later.”

Shaun replied, "We’re not working, just enjoying coffee. Which by the way is finished. So your timing is impeccable.”

“Are you sure?” she asked, looking at me.

“Positive.”

Kinsley sat down across from Shaun. “Did you go for a jog this morning too?”

“No. I spent that time talking to my wife. I think I really should be going because the kids will want to talk to me and I must do that before it’s time for them to get ready for bed,” he replied. Getting up he said, “If you’re looking for something interesting for breakfast, I heard they were making sticky buns.”

Kinsley bit her lip and said, “Don’t tempt me. They sound delicious, but I really don’t want to go back out for another walk just to have one.”

I laughed. “Maybe we can take a hike after dinner instead.”
