“Just making a mental note,” he said, bringing my hand to his lips and kissing it.

If Reesa and Finn didn’t know that Draven and I were more than just employee and boss before, they sure did now.

I looked across the desk and saw they were both smiling, and it had nothing to do with ice cream.

So much for keeping this between us.

Once upon a time, I would’ve been furious if anyone was so bold as to behave in such a manner in front of someone so important like the president. But when Draven looked down at me with those dark loving eyes, I felt like the luckiest woman alive, and I didn’t care who knew it.

“Why don’t you let TJ know that you won’t need him and you can ride with us,” Reesa suggested. “It will give us time to get to know each other better.” Reesa leaned closer to me and chuckled, “And it will give Finn someone to talk to while we stop and check out a few shops we missed last time. There is a hat I have been wanting to get and I need your opinion on it.”

“Oh, why do I have a feeling that this is a much bigger adventure than ice cream,” Draven said.

“Because it always is. Trust me, you’ll get used to it,” Finn laughed. “And maybe we can stop in for a stout while they shop.”

“Now you’re talking,” Draven replied as we left the office.

This didn’t feel like we were going out with the president. It felt like a double date. And I didn’t feel like a stranger in a new country. Draven made this feel like I…I was meant to be here. Like I’m…home.

CHAPTER16

Draven

Kinsley looked amazing in her bikini as she glided on the paddle board. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. That wasn’t anything new, but I’d never seen so much…flesh. It was killing me.

I didn’t know how long it’d been for her, but I hadn’t dated anyone since I’d been in Tabiq. That meant it’d been more than a year. For a guy who never spent a Friday night alone, this was painful. The only thing that kept me here was the good we were doing.

Not that I ever stopped yearning for a woman’s touch, but it wasn’t something that bothered me any longer. Well, it wasn’t until Kinsley showed up. I felt like I walked around with a constant hard-on when she was nearby. Seeing her now, well, there was no hiding my erection in my swim shorts. Thankfully we were the only ones in the water right now.

I paddled faster to catch up with her. When I was beside her, she giggled.

“Didn’t think I could catch you?” I asked.

She shook her head. “Not with that sail you got going on.” She said, her eyes on my swim shorts.

Careful sweetheart. I am trying damn hard to be good.

“I blame you for that,” I said.

“Me?” She played the innocent part very well.

“Yes, sweetheart. That red and white striped bikini makes you look like a piece of candy, and I’ve got a sweet tooth,” I said, my voice husky with need.

She stopped paddling and stood still on the board. I wasn’t prepared for that and when I turned to see what she was doing, I lost my balance and plunged into the water. When I came up from under the water, Kinsley was kneeling on her board searching for me in the water.

I tapped her on her foot and must’ve startled her because she spun around, and I no longer was in the water alone. I felt horrible. The last time she fell in the water, our time together ended quickly, and badly.

When she came up, she was coughing, and I pulled her so she could hold onto the board. She said she could swim, but we never discussed how well.

“I’m sorry. Didn’t mean to scare you. Are you okay?”

She nodded and coughed a few more times. “It’s…okay. I…was trying to see…if you were okay.”

My feet were planted on the sandy bottom of the ocean, but barely. I knew Kinsley couldn’t stand. I said, “Why don’t you hold onto me, and I’ll bring us to shore.”

Kinsley wrapped her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist. “Do we have to go back in already?”

“You want to get back on the paddle board? Because I’ll help you if you do.” She shook her head. “Want to swim for a bit?” I asked.
