“I’m going to need to be very close behind you.”

“I have no problem with your breast against my back,” I smiled.

“I’m sure you don’t, but just remember how we got into this predicament.”

She pointed down towards my cock. “Well, I only brought two towels. They’re just going to have to deal with the view.”

“Maybe you should walk behind me when we get out of the water instead,” she teased.

“That’s a great idea. And I have no problem pressing my cock against your backside,” I winked.

She bit her bottom lip. “We better get out of the water before we give the other guests another free show.”

This fun playful side of Kinsley had me falling for her, all over again.

We had dinner plans, but from the sound of it, we were heading straight for dessert.

She still hadn’t told me that she loved me. And I hadn’t said it to her again. Was tonight the night that I broke my word to myself and told her exactly how I felt?

I’ve told her once. I just wish I knew if she had heard me or not.

Everything was so perfect with Kinsley. But perfect wasn’t something I was used to. Fucking up a relationship, now that’s something I was great at. I’ve done it on purpose, and I’ve done it on accident. But all ended the same. Without the girl.

I’m not ready to risk losing her. Not now. Maybe not ever.

CHAPTER17

Kinsley

“Diana, I can’t remember the last time I was this happy.” If I really thought about it, I didn’t think I’d ever been. And that scared the shit out of me. It wasn’t the happiness that scared me, it was how I was going to be able to survive when it ended.

“It’s about time. You deserve this,” she said.

“Everyone deserves to be happy,” I reminded her.

“Not everyone. I can name a few if you need me to remind you,” she stated.

“No thank you. I’m trying to leave all that behind me. But I did tell Draven what had happened.” That wasn’t entirely accurate. I told him very little, but I showed him. I am not even sure I told him that I can’t hear out of my right ear yet. Since he always makes sure to sit on my left side now without my asking, he probably figured it out.

The man really was the most considerate person there was. Also very horny, which I didn’t have a problem with. It’d been so long since I’d been intimate with anyone that I was afraid I’d forgotten how to do it.But the way Draven growls when I lick him just right, says I am not as rusty as I thought.

“Kinsley, I have no idea what you’re thinking about, but that smile on your face says it’s juicy. Tell me the truth. Did you and Draven do the deed?” she asked.

I huffed. “Why does everything have to be about sex with you?” Granted that’s exactly what I was thinking about, but she doesn’t need to know she was right.

“That wasn’t an answer. If anything, that was you trying to deflect. I will have to assume that it means you did. And since you won’t admit it, then I’m not going to bother asking you how it was. The smile on your face tells me it was amazing,” she teased.

“When did you become a mind reader?” I asked. “Or is that your latest job?” It was my turn to tease.

“Hey, that’s a great idea,” she stated.

“Becoming a mind reader?” I questioned.

“Oh, God, no. I mean a matchmaker. I’d be great at it. I mean, look what I did for you and Draven,” she said.

“Wait. What did you do for us?” I asked.

“If I didn’t push you to go for it, you would’ve still been supporting Duracell,” she laughed.
