Ethan

Once again, I couldn’t take my eyes off her, and I didn’t want to until my cell phone vibrated in the pocket of my black slacks.

I answered, “This is Ethan.”

No one could hear me. I stood in a secluded corner of the room, watching Livvy try on her wedding gowns. The way they threw her around all morning was quite a sight to see. Especially watching her mumble her answers to questions you’d think she and Beau had already communicated, but it was obvious they hadn’t.

What kind of relationship is that?

“Good afternoon, Ethan,” my lawyer greeted.

“Any updates?”

“We’re still trying to find whatever we can on Beau Hunter. I was just calling to ask if you want us to continue now that you’re at their wedding.”

Freddie had been with me since I began my app. There wasn’t much I kept from him. He knew my situation with Livvy, and I appreciated his sentiment, making sure I was doing the right thing.

Still locking eyes with Livvy through the mirror, I had no problem confirming…

“Abso-fucking-lutely.”

ChapterTwenty-Three

Livvy

Early the following morning,it was our third day into our weeklong wedding celebration, and I found myself walking into Beau’s suite before they left to go golfing again. After they returned yesterday, I didn’t get a moment alone with him, and by the time I did, it was late into the night, and I didn’t want to bring it up anymore.

I should have, though. I barely slept, tossing and turning most of the night, thinking about all the questions that plagued me. As soon as I walked into his west wing suite, Beau was walking out of the bathroom with a white towel wrapped around his waist. His sculpted physique was messing with my head, and I had to shake off the desire to have sex with him instead.

“You’re up early,” he announced, kissing me.

I smiled, peering up at him. He was so tall, almost the same height as Ethan who was six-foot-three. However, Beau’s appearance was totally opposite from Ethan’s. He had blond hair, green eyes, and kind of resembled a version of the Ken doll. He was definitely a pretty boy as opposed to Ethan, who looked more rugged. They were both devastatingly handsome, and women constantly stared at them everywhere we went.

“I wanted to catch you before you left,” I expressed. “Once you return, you know we won’t have a second alone together.”

He smacked my ass, causing me to yelp. “I like where this is going.” In one swift movement, he wrapped my legs around his waist and carried me over to the bed. “God, I’ve missed you.”

“Beau, this isn’t—”

Throwing me onto the bed, he laid perfectly on top of me as he held himself up by his arms on the sides of my head, caging me in.

“Well.” He kissed my neck. “Allow me to change your mind.”

“I’m being serious. We need to talk.”

“We can still talk.” He nuzzled his way down my chest. “I’m listening to every word you say.”

I grabbed his chin to look at me. “I can’t focus when you’re doing that.”

He chuckled, vibrating my entire core.

“Then all the more reason for me to keep going.”

“Please…”

“Alright.” He paused, giving me his attention. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong.”
