My alarm goes off letting me know it's 8 a.m, and I almost leap out of bed in excitement. I've never really been a morning person; heck, I normally need to set about ten alarms spaced over the hour just to make sure I'm up for school, but today I need no persuasion. Today is the day I've been looking forward to for months. Today is prom!

Reaching for my phone, I send a group text.

Izzy:Morning girls, today’s the day! Who's as excited as I am??

Instantly, I get a reply back.

Ava:You know it, girl! I've been up for over an hour, too excited to sleep.

Izzy:Are we still meeting at Francisco at 11.30?

Ava:Sure, want me to swing by around 10.30 and pick you up? We can grab a Starbucks on the way.

Izzy:Sounds amazing.

Harper:You're both far too excited for this time of the morning…. Go back to sleep!

I can't help but laugh as I throw my phone onto the towel rack as I strip off my pajamas ready to hop in the shower. Before I do, though, I turn on my Spotify and blast out my favorite tunes. I sing and sway along to the music happily as I wash my hair and shave every part of me, until my skin is as soft as a newborn baby. Finally turning off the stream of water now it's beginning to get cold, I get out. I wrap my hair in a towel and my body in my super soft robe.

I spend the next two hours drying and straightening my hair before throwing it up in a high ponytail. As well as priming my face and putting on body lotion. My music is still playing when there's a knock at the door.

"Come in," I shout.

The door creaks open, and I see Nana smiling like the Cheshire cat as she walks in with hot chocolate and a bagel. I see her looking at the bed, which I now realize is covered in bottles, brushes, and pretty much everything I own. I shove some of them aside so she has space to sit.

"Thank you, dear," she says as she sits down in the space I made. " I thought you might want some energy, since you're obviously putting on a concert up here," she laughs. Causing me to cover my mouth with my hand.

"OMG! I'm so sorry. Was I being that loud?"

"Well, let's just put it this way, it sounded like a herd of elephants were at a rock concert up here" she giggles.

"OMG, I'm so sorry, Nana. I was drying my hair, so I couldn't hear myself sing." I laugh.

"Strange, pretty sure half the street heard," she laughs back as she takes a mini marshmallow off the top of my drink and throws it at me.

I take the drink and food from Nana while we chat and discuss the plans for the night.

"I can't wait to see your dress, Izzy," Nana coos. Other than the girls, whom I swore to secrecy, no one else has seen the dress. Even Nana has no idea what it looks like.

"It will be worth the wait. I promise."

There's a loud beep outside letting me know Ava is here, so I quickly grab my phone and keys, ready to leave.

"Are you ready? I can go tell the girls to wait if you need a few minutes longer." Nana says, taking in my make-up free face, leggings, and baggy top. While sporting a high pony.

"It's fine, Nana," I laugh. "We're getting everything done there."

I head out the door, mini suitcase in hand, just as Ava beeps the car a second time.

"You're impatient today." I laugh as I climb into the passenger side door.

"It's prooooom!" Ava squeals from beside me.

We make our way to Fransisco’s, stopping quickly at Starbucks to grab four ice lattes.

As we walk inside, we spot Harper already talking to the receptionist, while Riley looks half dead on the sofa.

"Coffee! I could kiss you," Riley groans as she takes one.
