His lip curled on a silent snarl.

No. She was his. He would simply sate her with too many orgasms, and whatever else human women enjoyed, until all thoughts of her former life were but a distant memory.

He was already learning about her physical needs and whatnotto say. Previous conquests were a sore topic, apparently, though Ezul did enjoy how she had responded to–

Ezul jerked as an object slammed into his back, the strength in his body draining in an instant. He stumbled forward, limbs weakening. Collapsing to the ground, Cordelia tumbled from his arms.

He couldn’t move as she woke, hitting the dirt with a gasp. Groggily, she shifted onto her side, staring over at him in confusion.

“Ez?” Her eyes widened, fear spreading across her features as he blacked out.

Chapter 7

CordeliaclutchedEzul’slaxhand as the transport shuttled them back toward the capitol, grateful the men who’d taken her had at least allowed her to sit next to Ezul’s prone form, his head resting in her lap.

Aragnokans surrounded the pair inside the spacious vehicle and a blanket had been provided to cover her nude frame, but Cordelia was freaking out, regardless of the small comfort.

She was being forced back to the harem, and Ezul couldn’t do anything to help her because he was fucking unconscious.

They’d shot him with some sort of tranquilizer and he’d gone down hard, leaving Cordelia in the company of a small army of Aragnokan guards wearing familiar capitol uniforms.

It had been thirty minutes since they’d been abducted and Ezul had barely moved. Her other hand rested on his chest, feeling the gentle rise and fall of his chest through his breastplate. His breathing was normal, which was the only thing keeping her from completely losing her shit.

Why would they take him down like that? Why treat him like he was an enemy and not a warrior worthy of their respect? Ezul hadn’t done anything wrong!

How did they even know where they’d been?

Cordelia took a shuddering breath, brushing a few strands of Ezul’s black hair from his eyes. Next, she lightly caressed his horns, expecting him to react in some way like he usually did.Nothing.

She ignored the tears threatening to fall. Chin wobbling, she looked away, afraid that seeing him so vulnerable would make her freak out even more.

Crying like a baby wasn’t going to fix anything, and besides, she doubted a few sobs on her part would wake her surly alien. He was out cold.

A jolt of pain shot through her core and she winced. So much for the pollen being out of her system!

She was starting to burn up, the lack of sex making her insides twist and churn painfully. Cordelia shifted in her seat as another stab of pain sliced through her womb.

One of the guards turned toward her, eyes narrowing on her sweat-damp face. “This one is in a mating haze from the Ruftaz plant.” He nodded his head toward Cordelia. “No wonder the warrior stole her from the harem.”

Stole her?Stoleher?!

“He didn’t steal me,” Cordelia snapped, the painful arousal not doing anything to improve her attitude.

Stole her? Seriously, were there no cameras at all around the capitol building? She had climbed vines and scaled walls like a boss-ass bitch, andthenshe’d had a crazy sex fest in a creepy cave for days and loved every minute of it.

The Aragnokan’s gaze lowered to her breasts, which had become slightly exposed as her blanket shifted, his pupils dilating.

Readjusting her blanket, Cordelia was tempted to punch him in the nose when he moved closer to stand in front of her. He inhaled deeply, as if to catch a whiff of her scent.

His behavior was disgusting and completely unwelcome. Maybe if she broke his nose, he’d keep it the hell away from her. It would be hard to sniff anything if his nostrils were filled with blood.

Last week she would have been terrified of an altercation with an alien, but the Aragnokan staring at her was much smaller than Ezul, probably ineveryway that counted.

He was short, a green guard uniform hanging from his lean frame, and his skin was a deep blue. There was nothing remarkable about him in the slightest. No horns, no lightning veins, no sexy glowing eyes.

Now she knew that the lack of glowiness was a direct result of him being ordinary, and it showed in his appalling behavior.

“I can’t blame him for being greedy,” the same guard commented, unaware she’d begun silently plotting his demise. “It isn’t often a female’s arousal is so... enticing.” He eyed her appreciatively and Cordelia stiffened, clutching the blanket more tightly to her.
