Can’t feel shit, won’t feel shit.

Refuse to feel anything.

Two more shots and the room is spinning. Perfect. Onto the next conquest. I scan the crowd and zero in on a cutie sitting with his friends. Just my type.

I stumble my way over, while quickly smoothing out my hair, pinching my cheeks, and running a hand down my clothes. Like a tiger seeking its prey, I pounce.

With a pretend misstep of my flip-flop, I land in his lap and feign shock. “Whoa, shit, I’m sorry.” I giggle and bat my eyelashes at him. “It must be my lucky day to fall into a hottie’s lap.” He takes the bait, his eyes hazy, his movements clumsy. Drunk as a skunk just like me. This’ll be easier than I thought. No fight for control. He’s all mine to play with.

I lean down and nip at his earlobe. “Want to get the fuck out of here?”

No need to ask him twice. He stands and lifts me at the same time, tossing me over his shoulder. I yelp in surprise, the room spinning more than it was before now that I’m hanging upside down. He smacks my ass and starts walking. The ground passes in a blur, and then we’re going up the stairs.

Just as we make it to the top landing and round the corner, I catch a glimpse of a group of people around the bottom of the stairs. It’s my friends.

And staring up at me in the middle of them all is the one person I was looking for all night.

Fucking Holden.

I crackone eye open and immediately slam it back shut. My head throbs like someone’s drilling on the inside and my stomach twists.

Where the fuck am I? And what time is it?

Fuck. I need to stop waking up in random fucking beds. I peek my eyes open again and take in the room around me. Nothing looks familiar, not even the guy passed out next to me.

Snippets of the night before come back to me but not enough to form a complete memory. I sit up and regret it; my head feels so heavy, and I’m so nauseous, I need to find a toilet stat.

When my feet hit the floor, I hear a groan, and when I look over, there’s a naked guy facedown, half conscious.

Who the hell is that?

There’s no time to ponder unless I plan to puke all over him. Thankfully, there’s a bathroom attached, and I make it there just in time.

After there’s nothing left, I lay my cheek on the cool porcelain of the sink and pray my head will stop throbbing enough to make it home. I can barely string together a thought—do I plan on crawling out of here?

Fuck, this sucks. I need to find my phone.

What day is it anyway?

Shit! Classes start today! My head hurts more trying to remember my schedule. And my part time campus job…my first shift after break, isn’t it today?

Dammit, Len, you really did it this time. Couldn’t wait till the second week of classes to start being late?

I just hope I didn’t miss my shift at the computer lab. I’ve pretty much used all my strikes and then some. Good thing it’s so casual, most supervisors don't give a shit if you’re late. No shows or calling in sick constantly are all frowned upon, and we all know I’ve done it more times than I care to admit.

With the teeny bit of energy I manage to muster, I shuffle back to the bedroom and look for my things. Both guys are still sleeping, so I try to be as quiet as possible. The last thing I want the morning after is an awkward conversation. Besides, who the fuck is this other guy? My mind comes up blank, the evening blurry after downing all those shots. I vaguely remember a guy, him bringing me upstairs, and then…

Shit. Holden.

He definitely saw me.

Did he see me coming up here with two guys?

Did I even bring two guys up here?

I can’t even think straight, my head hurts more with each thought. I can figure this shit out later. Maybe the memories will come back. If not, I really don’t fucking care. The night's activities kept me from feeling, which is all I wanted. No…it’s all I needed.

I find my phone lying on the floor and my hoodie next to it. After pulling it on, I check the pocket and find my wristlet still tucked inside. Phew. I try powering up my phone, but the empty battery icon flashes at me. Dammit. Scanning the room for a clock, I finally spot one on a desk in the corner.9:46 a.m.
