Dante was ready to yell again but decided against it.

Sonny didn’t care about anyone who wasn’t a part of the club. Most of their members thought that way. But it was easier for Sonny. He was colder than most. That’s why he was the lead enforcer.

But as much as Dante was hardened by the military and his unsettled past, he couldn’t just shut off his feelings. Not for Sage. Now that he’d gotten to know more about her and her sister, it was difficult to be objective. He’d had the same problem in the army, watching his buddies get injured or worse. After a while, you grew numb, or you took drugs or drank to encourage the numbness. But you were never fully immune to the horrors of war or what you had to do to survive. And this situation with Sage was the same, making him feel too much.

The rest of the ride was made in silence.

Forty minutes later, they arrived in Canmore and exited off the highway to route six, a long country road. The winding street reminded Dante of their own place back in Longford.

Most MCs loved to buy places far out in the country with privacy, no nosy neighbors, and most important of all, little to no cops around. There were enough pigs in the surrounding farms as it was, and bikers hated the stifling rule of law.

Sonny pulled up to the side of the road and killed the engine and the lights.

He tapped on the phone. “She’s in.”

Dante glanced at the green dot on the screen again. It was north of the road they were on, and moving. There was a large gate up ahead, the front entrance of the compound.

“Do you see any cameras nearby?” Sonny asked.

Dante pulled out a pair of binoculars from the glove compartment and began to survey their surroundings.

“Two by the gate. Most cameras have a range of seventy feet. If they have night sensors, possibly one hundred. We’re far enough away.”

Wyatt took out a camera and began to snap photos. “Can we disable them?”

“We’d have to cut their electricity. But they probably have a generator.”

“Worth a shot,” Sonny added. “Xander told me that most of these cameras run on unsecure connections. Especially out here in the country.”

Sonny tapped on his phone, placing it on speaker.

Thirty seconds later, Xander answered.

“What’s up? I see the tracking device is working. You got to the compound?”

“We did. Or, Sage did. We’re waiting outside. Two security cams at the gate. Anything we can do to disable them without setting off an alarm? Or can we shut down the power?”

“Tap your WIFI details on your phone, see what pops up.”

Sonny tapped his phone and sure enough, there was only one WIFI username in the area. “GunsAndAmmo, how original. I’m sharing my screen with you.”

“Cool. Give me a minute. I’m going to hack into their security feed. If I can, I’ll run a section of their time loop on repeat and that’ll give you guys a means to get closer.”

Dante was always grateful that Xander was on their side. He could unleash cyber hell on others that was almost as frightening as physical violence. Sometimes even more so. You could wipe out a business or bank accounts with a few keyboard strokes.

“Okay, I’m in. Give me a few minutes and you’ll be set.”

“No rush. Sage entered the premises five minutes ago, so she needs time to get this guy drugged and start taking what she can.”

“I’ll work on this and text you when it’s all clear.”

“Got it,” Sonny replied and tapped his phone.

The map popped up again.

Dante stared at that fucking green dot until it he was sure it was burned on his retina.

Sage
