“Yes, I will. Which is your doing. I don’t know if I would have given Lucas a chance either if you hadn’t been so relentless, so irresistible. Even though I was afraid to try again, I am. Are you saying I’m braver than you?”

“Yes!” Nash nodded. “You are, Adam. You’re amazing! Everything that you do, work, school, your friends. I’m lucky you didn’t give me the boot the first day you met me.”

“I didn’t. I was attracted to you, but I thought you were just teasing me.”

“I would never.” Nash finally looked at them. “I wouldn’t!”

“I know that now,” Adam said. “I know that you tease and joke to make me smile. You help take all of the responsibility that I saddled myself with and let go for a while. Yes, I want a Daddy. I always have. I want to be pampered and taken care of for once in my life. That doesn’t mean that I don’t want you too.”

“But why?”

The words were strained as Nash blinked at them. “Why would you want me? Either of you?”

“You make me want to be myself,” Adam said. “I’m safe with you and I want to do all the things that I’ve been afraid to try before.”

“You call to something inside me. I want Adam. I want to be his Daddy, his protector, and give him the safe space he needs. With you, I want to test and push your boundaries. You both offer something different but something I need.” Lucas’s tone while being firm remained loving toward him.

“I’m not… You think I’m a boy, but I’ve been to clubs. I’ve played.” Nash looked disappointed.

“Maybe,” Lucas replied. “You haven’t played with me though. And you are my boy. You have a submissive side that is just begging for me to take you in hand.”

“I don’t know.” Nash blew out a frustrated breath.

“I do. You’ll have to decide if you trust me enough to explore that side of yourself.” Lucas knew deep down that Nash was perfect for him and Adam. It would just take Nash time to see it for himself.

“It’s not about trust,” Nash whispered.

“Oh, my sweet stubborn boy, it’s all about trust.” Lucas grinned. He’d show Nash. Nash was going to be surprised by how much he wanted to please Lucas.

Chapter Six

Nash

Nash’s gaze bounced from Lucas to Lincoln and back again. The two men were squared off in front of his hospital bed and Nash wasn’t sure if he was enjoying the show or scared the two would come to blows.

Lucas growled before pinching the bridge of his nose. Nash had never seen Lucas so irritated and was almost fascinated by it. Lincoln on the other hand wore an annoyed expression that Nash knew well.

“Look,” Lucas said sharply. “I understand that he is your partner. It makes more sense for him to come home with me. He’ll be right upstairs from my shop. I can check on him throughout the day or have him down with me. Adam will be across the street if I need help. Having him at your place, across town, means that someone will have to take off work when it’s not necessary.”

Couldn’t argue that logic but Lincoln was giving it his best.

Caden, who was sitting on Adam’s lap, in the chair next to Nash’s bed, cleared his throat.

Lincoln never ignored his baby. “Caden? You okay?”

“I’m fine,” Caden replied with a shrug. “I was just going to point out that we could ask Nash what he wanted.”

Both Lucas and Lincoln turned their scowls on him.

Nash had to fight the urge to pull his blankets over his head. Now would be a really good time to be a little like the other boys but Nash was certain he wouldn’t get away with it. He didn’t want to disappoint either man. They were both important to him.

“Shit!” Lincoln spat before he stomped over to the side of the bed where the chairs weren’t lined bedside. “I’m sorry, Nash. I’m being a dick.”

Nash knew his eyes were wide and he couldn’t hide his shock. Lincoln was his best friend, but Nash was used to Lincoln’s pushier Daddy side. “It’s okay.”

“No, it’s not. I’m over here acting like I’m your Daddy or boyfriend and not your partner and best friend. I’m sorry.”

It was nice that Lincoln cared so much about him. Nash nodded. “It’s fine.”
