She had thought about calling Hedda several times a couple of hours ago but held herself back. There was no way Hedda was coming out here to her apartment. It wasn’t safe and Storm didn’t want to put her in any danger.

Her phone went off several times but she had no desire to pick it up. All she wanted to do was rest and get better, not answer her phone and talk.

She also didn't know who would be calling her because her parents only called her on certain days and always at night. They knew she was working today so they wouldn't call. The only other person she knew would call was Hedda and she could wait right now.

Storm grabbed Mika, her stuffed white elephant, and snuggled into her as she got comfortable on her bed. Mika had been one of her first adult purchases and she didn't regret it. Nobody knew about her and she wanted it that way.

Not that Storm was trying to hide that she was a Little, but not everybody knew. Her parents didn't and whenever an adult had a stuffed animal in their arms out in public, they always made a comment about it. She didn't want it getting back to her parents, and although it was unlikely, there was still a chance.

Right as she was about to fall asleep, a loud knock jolted her awake. Who would be knocking on her door? Nobody, not even her parents, knew where she lived. She hadn't been here long enough to tell anybody where she lived.

Hedda had asked once but before she could respond, she had gotten a call from someone and had to leave. Storm wasn't ashamed that she lived here, but she also knew if anybody found out, they would have so many questions.

Questions she didn't want to answer.

She didn't want to talk about how she felt guilty for spending her parents' money. That was one sure way of getting told to go to a therapist, something Storm didn't want to do. She and her parents had already spent so much money on doctors she didn't want to spend anymore.

The knocks sounded up again and this time she heard a voice.

“Storm!” His voice filtered through the door and into her small apartment.

Miles.

What was he doing here? How did he know where she lived? Had he been the one calling?

She slowly got out of her bed, leaving Mika on her pillow before she walked to the front door. Her whole body protested with each step she took, begging her to walk back to her bed and go to sleep.

Storm unlocked the door and stared at Miles. She didn't want to deal with him right now. She didn't want to deal with anybody and yet here he was, standing in front of her apartment.

He looked up and down her body and shook his head. What was that about? Did he not like what he saw? She wasn't going to look all dolled up while she was sick and at home. There was no point.

She went to close the door, but his arm shot out and held it in place. A groan fell from her lips as she leaned her way into the door to try and close it. She felt so weak and knew there was no way she was going to be able to close the door while he held it open.

“Why didn't you text me?” he asked.

Storm pushed herself off the door and shrugged her shoulders. She didn't want to have to deal with this and yet she knew he was going to make her.

Why hadn't she wanted to call him? How embarrassing would that have been, to call a complete stranger and ask him to help her. She wasn’t going to do that.

He let out a sigh. “I’m here to take care of you.”

She shook her head and let out a little whimper as pain exploded across her temple.

“No,” she whispered.

She didn’t want Miles to take care of her. Storm didn’t know him, and it would be weird for him to do that.

“I wasn’t asking. You obviously need someone to take charge, so I am,” he said, leaving no room for argument.

Not that Storm had much in her to argue. She was absolutely exhausted and didn’t want to do anything right now, especially argue with him.

“I didn’t want to be a bother,” she softly said.

That was part of the truth. The other part was she didn’t know him so why would he want to take care of her?

“You aren’t a bother. It’s going to take you a lot longer to get better if you’re doing it by yourself so I’m going to be your Daddy while you heal up,” he said.

Storm’s eyes went wide and she took a step back. How did he know she was a Little? Had he been looking into her? She knew something was up with the men she saw at the birthday party. Could they be criminals? Was he here to harm her?
