“Don’t be alarmed. I thought you could be one when you ran into me and when we briefly talked at the birthday party, but Hedda confirmed it. She told me after you left that you were a Little,” he explained, and her heart sank.

Hedda told Miles she was a Little? Why would she do that? It wasn’t her right to tell anyone. It was private.

“I told Hedda it wasn’t her place to tell me, and she got a punishment. She knows what she did was wrong now and she feels terrible about it. I thought maybe she had told you,” he said.

Storm was hurt Hedda would do something like that. She knew Storm didn’t want anyone to know she was a Little. Hedda had gone behind her back.

But why did she tell him? It didn’t make sense.

“She told me because I’m a Daddy Dom,” Miles said.

Had she said that out loud? Her eyes went wide as his words sunk in.

He was a Daddy Dom? She didn’t expect that, but she shouldn’t judge someone by how they looked.

“I don’t need anyone to take care of me,” Storm lied.

She hated when she got sick and didn’t have anyone to take care of her. It seemed to prolong her sickness when she had to take care of herself.

“It’s not up for debate. I know you want someone to take care of you and here I am. I’m here until you’re better,” he said.

Before she could do anything, he picked her up and wrapped her legs around his waist. Storm wriggled, dropping her legs and trying to get out of his hold, but with one pop to her bottom she stopped moving.

“I’m sick,” she whined. “I’m going to get you sick.”

“You won’t get me sick and stop moving,” he replied. “I don’t want to drop you.”

Storm placed her head on his shoulder and relaxed in his embrace. She loved being held, especially when she was sick.

He walked inside and closed her front door. She couldn’t believe they had talked with the door open, where any of her neighbors could’ve heard their conversation. Some of her neighbors were nosy and liked to know everyone’s business. Storm tried to keep to herself but had no doubt one of her nosy neighbors probably peeked to see what was going on and would be telling other people soon.

Just what she wanted. Gossip about her would be going around the building and who knows where else. She had no doubt that when Miles left, one of her neighbors was going to talk to her and ask a billion questions.

“How about I take you to my house so I can take better care of you?” he asked.

“No,” she mumbled.

She didn’t want to go to his house. She would feel so uncomfortable, more uncomfortable than him being at her house. Here, she knew the space was hers and she would be more relaxed, even if Miles was invading her area. It was better than nothing, but she knew she wouldn’t be able to relax if she went to his house.

“I don’t like it, but I’ll put up with it this one time,” he said.

“Don’t like being told no or not being at your house?” she whispered.

“Both for different reasons. My house has a lot better security than this building does. It’s not in a great neighborhood, which we’ll talk about when you’re better. I also don’t like you saying no.”

She thought about asking him why, but she had before and he hadn’t offered an explanation.

“I have everything you need at my house, and I highly doubt you have everything you need here,” he mumbled and she winced.

She didn’t have a lot of things here she needed. No medicine, not a lot of food, and no heating. Her unit had stopped working and while she’d talked to the building manager, he’d said the person couldn’t come for another day or two.

That was probably another reason why her sickness had gotten worse. Her apartment was cold and no matter how many blankets she used, she was still cold.

“I’m going to look around and see what you need then have things delivered here,” he said. “How about we get you all comfy on the couch while I do that?”

Miles walked toward the couch and gently placed her down. Storm’s arms immediately wrapped around herself as the cold enveloped her body. She didn’t realize how warm he was keeping her until now.

“Why is it so cold in here?” he asked. “Let me get you a couple blankets. Are they in your room?”
