“Don’t you fucking dare,” she growled.

He chuckled at her weak attempt at a growl. It was like a little kitten trying to assert dominance over the cat. It was cute.

“You just fucking said it was for a good reason. You can’t tell my brother about it,” she said.

“Watch me. Just because it was for a good reason doesn’t mean you have permission to do it.”

He could hear her sigh over the phone and couldn't help but smile. Miles couldn't wait for the day she found her Daddy. It was going to be a shock to her because while her brother let her get away with some things, he was also different. Her brother punished her right now but when it was her own Daddy or Daddies, it was going to be so different.

“Bye, you fucker,” she said as she hung up.

It was like his men knew he was done talking to her because they immediately sent him a text.

We have the package secured and ready.

He knew where they were meeting so he turned on his car and started to drive toward the warehouse. It wasn't a bad drive, but it did give him time to think. He was hoping this interrogation wouldn't be long and he could call Storm after she had dinner with Hedda.

His phone started to ring, and he quickly glanced at it, seeing Storm’s name come across. He wished he could pick it up right now, but he was almost to the warehouse and knew he didn't have enough time to talk to her. This needed to get done so he could report back to Rogan.

He let her call go to voicemail.

Right now, she wasn'thisgirl and this job was important. He needed to figure out if Luigi De Luca was working for anyone else. He may regret this decision later, but he had promised Rogan he would find out if Luigi was working for someone else or not by tonight.

And he didn’t break his promises.

Miles pulled into the parking lot of the warehouse when his phone started to ring again.

Storm.

What was going on that she would call him twice in a row? This had been the first time she’d called him, ever. She hadn’t even texted him, so why now?

Right as he was about to pick it up, another text came through.

Heard you got him. I expect answers in an hour. -Rogan

Cursing, he turned off his phone, got out of his car, and headed into the warehouse.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

STORM

“Ijust need to brush my hair and then I’ll be on my way to you,” Storm said as she grabbed her brush.

Hedda had been on the call for a few minutes, on speaker phone, as Storm got ready. It made her feel better because she had a bad feeling in her stomach.

It had been a few hours since she had gotten home from work and since she had felt any eyes on her. It was a relief, but as the minutes went by, a sinking feeling started to form in her stomach.

Something bad was going to happen.

Storm didn’t know what it was but it was starting to freak her out.

“Are you okay?” Hedda asked.

She took a shaky breath in.

“Are you thinking about hurting yourself right now? Do I need to come to your apartment?”

“No!” She raised her voice.
