He had made it perfectly clear he didn’t want anything to do with her. They hadn’t seen each other in over a week; no communication whatsoever. Didn’t sound like a boyfriend to her.

“Bring in the bucket and fan,” Richard commanded.

Her body ran cold at that. The bucket had to be filled with water. Her mind first went to him dumping hot water on her and then blasting a fan in her direction. No doubt she was going to get sick from this.

She didn't know how long she was going to last, but she knew Richard knew about her weak immune system. He could do several things to compromise her and make her suffer.

“He's not going to care,” she softly whispered.

Miles had mentioned before he left that he wanted nothing to do with her. She didn't think that was going to change. He probably had no clue she’d been kidnapped and if he did, he probably didn't care.

Her heart broke at the thought but deep down she knew it was true. How could it not be?

Richard laughed and shook his head. She didn't know what that meant and she didn't have time to think about it.

Two men walked in, one with a bucket that looked heavy and one with a fan. She watched as the man with the fan plugged it into the wall and placed it on the ground.

Storm held her breath, waiting for something to happen. She wanted to be prepared but didn’t know how to prepare herself. So many different things could happen right now with those two things.

“Take a video,” Richard commanded one of his men.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw a guy holding a smartphone, no doubt starting to record.

One of the other men brought the bucket to Richard, handing it off.

“I would say I'm sorry for doing this, but I'm not,” he chuckled before he threw the cold water on her.

It took a second for the water to soak into her skin, but once it did, her body started to shiver. The cold water seeped into her clothes and body. It wasn’t cold water, but ice water like it had been outside for hours and hours and was almost about to freeze.

Her clothes stuck to her skin, making her uncomfortable in the chair. She was sitting in a puddle of ice water. Tears filled her eyes as she became overwhelmed and scared.

She had already been cold in the room but having this ice water thrown on her and no form of heat wasn't good. The room was all concrete and it didn’t look like there were any vents in here to heat it up.

Storm's body started to feel sluggish, and just blinking was becoming harder and harder.

“Turn the fan on and point it toward her,” Richard said.

“P-P-Please,” she stuttered, begging.

Her teeth were chattering as the seconds went by and it only intensified when the fan turned on.

“Hand me the phone,” he said.

She had no clue what he was planning on doing and she didn't have the energy to look around or think.

Richard came closer to her. She tried to move her head back to get away from him, but he grabbed her face hard and held it still.

Storm’s body tensed up as she got ready to sneeze. When the sneeze came, everything hurt.

“Say hi to Miles,” he said.

She could barely open her eyes as she looked at the camera. It felt like her body was shutting down on her, her vision getting darker, and she knew she didn't have long before she was going to pass out again.

She opened her mouth, wanting to get a word out to Miles, but nothing came out.

The last thing she heard before she passed out was Richard chuckling and mumbling something.
