The man turned around and she realized he was a pretty boy. He wasn't like any of the other guys here. She couldn't see any visible scars on him or many tattoos.

The guy she had run into was covered in tattoos. She saw them peeking out from under his suit and knew he was covered in them.

“Ah, the friend you always talk about?” he asked.

Hedda talked about her?

“Yep! I dragged her here because she needed to get out,” Hedda responded. “Storm, this is Raynar.”

She gave him a small smile and just stood there. What was she supposed to say?

“It's nice to meet you,” he said. “Please, make yourself at home. We'll be having food soon. I hope you didn't eat before you came.”

Her stomach took that as a cue to grumble loudly. She wrapped her arms around her waist and felt her cheeks get red. How embarrassing. She’d had a sandwich for lunch but hadn’t been able to eat all of it since she didn't have a long enough break.

She had planned on eating it on her way home then having dinner but that obviously didn't happen.

Raynar laughed loudly and gave her a wide smile. “Good, you're hungry!”

Storm looked down at her feet, totally embarrassed over what had just happened. She'd never had that happen before and never wanted it to happen again.

“Hedda!” The same voice that asked her if she was okay yelled out.

Hedda jumped and turned around. “Fuck you. Next time don’t yell my name. You know I don’t like it,” Hedda said.

Storm slowly turned around and looked at the man walking toward them.

“You better be glad Rogan wasn't around to hear you curse. Next time, I'll tell him,” the man said.

“You won’t do it,” she scoffed.

“You want to try me? You know I don’t give a fuck and will tell him.”

Who was this man? And who was Rogan? She had heard his name several times tonight.

“So not fair that you get to curse and I can’t,” Hedda said.

“Little girls shouldn’t curse,” he replied.

Storm’s eyes went wide. Did he know Hedda was a Little?

“Miles, this is my friend, Storm.” Hedda turned toward her. “Storm, this is Miles. The birthday boy and my best friend.”

CHAPTER TWO

MILES

“I've got a job for you,” Rogan said.

Rogan Ricci. His boss.

Whenever he said he had a job for Miles, he knew it was serious.

“What is it?” he asked.

“I need you to go grab Luigi De Luca for me and get information out of him,” he replied.

“Shit. What did he do now?”
