He chuckled, the sound rumbling against my ribs. “Glad the feeling is mutual.” Pressing my wrists—bound inoneof his broad hands—to my chest, he braced himself on a forearm over my head and kissed me absolutely breathless. Once my mind was well and truly spinning, he abruptly, without warning, walked away, smirkingas I balked at him.

“Night, Skittles.”

“Motherfucker,” I barked as he vanished around the corner, heaving down air as my pussy throbbed and stars spun behind my lids. His husky laugh trailed back to me a beat before I heard his bedroom door click closed.

Jameson Rhodes was an asshole. A damnably gorgeous,sex-appeal godof an asshole.

NINETEEN

NOEL

“Wake up, beautiful.”

Blinking, entirely disoriented, I blearily took in the outline of a familiar face and gorgeous dark brown locks of hair. “Whashapning?”

His chuckle warmed my chest. “Come on. I wanna show you something.”

“Time is it?” One eye was vehemently refusing to stay open.

“Just before six.”

“Why?” I screwed up my face, jamming my other eye closed. It had been nearly impossible to fall asleep, worked up like I was. Finally, after one in the morning, I’d given up, wandered to the shower and desperately tried to relieve some of the pressure he’d wound so tightly in my core. Remembering exactly why I was so exhausted, I scowled at him, sitting upright. “Hey. You’re an asshole, you know that?”

His laugh was sincere, smile blinding as he held out a cup of coffee. “Keep reminding me, it’ll stick eventually. I brought a peace offering.”

Yup, I was still gaping at that full-throttle grin. Snapping my mouth shut, I studied him for a moment, narrowing my eyes as he jostled the mug, contents sloshing. “Gonna take a lot more than that.”

“Hard time sleeping?” He drawled smugly. My thighs clenched as memories of last night solidified.Dammit.

“Rat bastard,” I mumbled, blowing on the steaming cup. Jameson chuckled darkly, the sound triggering very unwelcome sensations of desire and adoration I quite simply wasn’t willing to acknowledge in the moment.

“I deserve that.”

“Payback’s a bitch, Rhodes.”

“Looking forward to it. Now. Come on, get up.”

“Amup.”

“Out of bed,” he amended, jerking his head towards the open door behind him.

“Early,” I complained, scowling.

“You run a coffee shop,” he pointed out dryly, amusement playing on his lips as he tossed one of his sweatshirts in my direction. In my sleep-numbed state, I hadn’t even noticed it tucked beneath his arm. I would absolutely not be acknowledging how badly I wanted to bury my face in the fabric and inhale his scent.

“Keyword:coffee.”

“In your hands, Skittles,” he said, jerking his chin like an order. “Drink up.”

Narrowing my eyes, I took down a long drag of hot, deliciously bitter liquid. “Better be good.”

“You can beat me to death if it’s not,” he offered, his dark, scarred brow raising.

“Good enough for me.” At least it was until he flung open the curtains and the blinding sun came rushing in to assault my eyes.

“Sun’s out.” He held up a hiking backpack before tossing it on the end of my bed. “Pack a bag, we’ll be back tomorrow.”

Nearly choking on the scalding liquid, I forced a swallow. “Tomorrow!?”
