“I tried my best, I promise. I am sorry the bread and the dessert aren’t edible. It’s your oven’s fault,” he laughs.

I kiss his lips softly and go back to my food. A yawn stretches my face and I decide to finish my meal tomorrow. Noah finishes his plate and joins me in the bathroom.

We brush our teeth and take a shower together, and some kind of calmness washes over me. We can finally go out as a couple.

“Do you want to go on a date with me?” I say, drying my body off.

“Like, adatedate?”

“Yes. A dinner date, a movie date, I don’t care what type of date?” I look at him.

“Is this you trying to get that orgasm?” He lifts his brow, and my smile falls. “Of course I want to go on a date with you, Ronan. I’ve wanted it for a long time.”

He lifts me up and kisses me passionately. My heart melts. My whole body melts into his arms, as he carries me to the bed. Noah dresses me in my pajamas and kisses every inch of my body before pulling the material over it, worshiping me.

Once he is dressed and in bed, I cuddle into his side, and let his breathing lull me into sleep. I hope I don’t have a nightmare again.

Like You - Rosenfeld

Noah

I leave Ronan’s apartment with a huge smile on my face, basically skipping down the street. I even opt for walking to my store, instead of driving. Wind blows in my face, pulling my hair out of a messy bun on top of my head, and I enjoy it. It makes me feel alive. It reminds me of how the world has colors again, since she found her way back to me.

I tried sneaking out, but that little devil of a cat had other plans. We played for quite some time while Ronan slept in, so I decided to make her coffee and wake her up with breakfast in bed.

I had no idea she was such a big fan of french toast. She ate and did that little, silly dance whilst chewing. She does that when she is happy. And that little dance mademehappy, because after a shitshow that happened with her vile mother last week, she is slowly getting to a point of being bright again.

Music blares in my ears as I wait for the light to turn green so I could cross the street. A hand on my shoulder startles me and brings me out of my thoughts.

“So, a walk of shame?” A high pitched voice comforts me, as Matilda elbows me in the waist.

“Gosh, you scared me! Would you say it’s a walk of shame if I was officially dating the person starting like…today?”

“OH MY GOD!!! Really???” She jumps up and down, shining with excitement, as we keep walking to the store. “Did you ask her?”

“She asked me. It felt so nice to know she wanted it just as much as I did.”

“Of course she does, you knucklehead. You don’t see the way she looks at you. I do.”

“How does she look at me?” I ask, blushing like a damn teenager.

“Like you are everything to her, Noah. Like Marko looked at your mom before… Yeah...”

My chest rumbles with pride and happiness, but also sadness. I thought the type of love they had was unobtainable for us. The rest of the world, I mean. Thinking about her leaves a painful hole in my heart.

“You okay, Noah?”

“Yeah, it’s just… I miss her. Especially when her birthday is around the corner, and the thing is, this is the first time that I have something I really want to share with her.”

“And she will be happy to listen.” Mats says, but I know it’s complete bullshit, just to console me. She is neither spiritual nor religious. And I am far from it.

“Okay, okay, enough of soppy shit. Go get us some coffees, and buy a couple extra cups. The little shits might show up to work today.” I say, stuffing her pockets with money.

She goes to the coffee shop, laughing and I continue straight to the store. Reaching the door, I see it’s already unlocked, and ourBLASTERSsign shines bright green, which means the teens are in.

“Sky? Ice?” I call for them, but the kids stay silent.
