“One margarita and a sparkling water.”

Zoey turns to face me, a taunting look on her face. “No.”

I turn my body to face her. “No, what?”

“You’re having a drink. We’re in Vegas, Harrison. You aren’t allowed to order sparkling water. Let go, have fun. Isn’t that why you’re here?”

She’s right. The pleading and promise in her eyes make me want to give in without hesitation. She has this way of disarming me already, and I’m a little scared. She might be one of the most bossy women I’ve been around, but she’s also got this charm that’s linked to her abrasiveness and her stubbornness, and watching her get what she wants is addicting because she lights up when it happens.

“Fine, make that two margaritas,” I sigh.

She smiles a big, bright, soul crushing smile at me, and I’m momentarily blinded at seeing her this happy. This right here is why I say yes to her. Even after a couple of days of getting reacquainted, she seems to have invaded my mind and dominated my will.

I pay for our drinks, and we make our way back to the others. Max has a gorgeous leggy brunette on his arm, who is apparently called Cami and is joining us tonight. Dude moves fast.

“Let’s go dancing. I have all this pent-up energy that I need to release.” Zoey shimmies, holding her drink still, making her dress sparkle as she moves.

She’s not the only one with pent-up energy.

“Zoey, baby, you’re killing me in that dress. Can I have the first dance?” Aaron slides in beside her, gripping her hip and turning her towards his hungry eyes. She carelessly flings her arms around his neck, still holding her drink in one hand, and kisses his cheek. I feel my teeth almost crack from the pressure of clenching my jaw.You don’t want to kill Aaron; you don’t want to kill Aaron.

When his hands slide down to cup Zoey’s arse over her dress, I definitely want to kill Aaron. I act on instinct. “Okay, that’s enough of that.” I grab her wrist and spin her back towards me. The surprise in her eyes is laced with mischief as I drape my arm over her shoulder.

“Ooo, jealous are we, big man?” Aaron muses, and I want to punch his stupid straight teeth.

“I don’t do jealous.”Or I didn’t use to.“I just want to make sure she doesn’t catch diseases from you tonight or ever. Isn’t that right, Max?” I nod towards him as I notice his jaw tick and his eyes zone in on my arm around his sister.

Aaron stumbles backwards, his hand dramatically clutching his chest. “Your words hurt, man. I’m clean as a whistle. Don’t let him put you off, Zo. My dick is bigger.” He winks at her, and she links her fingers with mine as they rest on her shoulder. The simmering fire of need ignites into a raging inferno from her taking my hand.

“Hmm, two men fighting over little old me? That’s got me feeling all kinds of reckless, boys, and you’d better be careful, or I’ll eat you both for breakfast,” she says seductively, ping ponging her gaze between us.

With that, she saunters off with both of our dicks pointing her way.

Chapter 11

Zoey

Theheavybassofthe music fills me like no other high. The darkness of the club cloaks my body, strobe lights flickering around me.

This is what I live for. I haven’t danced like this in ages.

The boys gambled and drank whilst I watched and bided my time, but now I’m vibrating with energy. I miss dancing; I miss the freeing feeling you get on the dancefloor when everyone around you is caught up in the rhythm, so I told them I was leaving to find a dancefloor. Harrison and Max followed me to the club but left me on the dancefloor ten minutes ago, Max with his pick of the night, who is the least chatty woman I’ve ever met. The others stayed, too caught up in whatever they were playing in the casino.

“Hey beautiful.” A raspy American voice filters in behind me as I feel the brush of connection at my back. I spin to find a tall, typical frat-boy looking male… keyword here being ‘boy’. He doesn’t look old enough to even be out of high school, and I place my hand on his shoulder to lean in and tell him to find someone his age when I feel another set of hands snake around my hips and hoist me so far backwards, I levitate.

I can’t be sure, but I think I yelp.

When I’m hit with the familiar scent that I know because we’ve been living together the last couple of days, I relax in his hold.

“Move. On.” Harrison’s deep, growling voice shouldn’t make me quiver, but I’d challenge any woman not to tremble when she hears his low timbre. It’s a form of unfair foreplay. Well, that and the fact his incredibly hard body is flush with my back, and his big hand is splayed across my stomach, sending heat racing over my skin.

The boy looks between us, hangs his head like he’s just been told to go to his room, and vanishes, obviously continuing his search for another willing body.

“Zoey, you’re being careless.” Heat unfurls in my core from the feeling of his hot breath on my bare skin. Everything feels heightened; the music, his touch, the heat surrounding me. Just everything, and I need air. Stat.

I push away from him, hoping I can find some oxygen in this packed club. “I’m fine. I know how to handle myself,” I snap a little too harshly. I don’t need a white knight defending me. I definitely don’t need one that turns me on, but I can’t touch. “Go find the others. I’m good.”

Harrison’s eyes flicker with something that looks like he wants to argue with me, so I raise my eyebrows at him, daring him to try and push me again. When his nostrils flare, I know he’s going to give in. It’s one of his tells I’ve noticed this week. He turns and leaves me and I fill my lungs with a deep breath.
