“How do you know that?”

“I don’t. But I do know that by the end of the day, you are going to be married to the love of your life. And isn’t that what this is all about?”

“Yes…but I just wanted today to be perfect!”

“It will be. We’ll fix everything, okay?”

Ella nodded and shuffled over to the couch where she slumped onto her face and stifled her cries with a pillow.

“If you cry, you’re going to have puffy eyes. Is that what you want?”

Ella sat up and wiped her tears with the back of her hand.

“No,” she said, her shaky voice barely audible.

“Have you had anything to eat yet today?”

She shook her head and looked at the ground sadly.

“I’m going to order room service. The other girls should be here soon. Why don’t you go put on some music and jump in the shower?”

Ella nodded her head and made her way over to the speakers to connect her phone. With her favorite songs blasting through the suite, she finally had a smile on her face.

I picked up the phone to order just about everything on the breakfast menu, and I promised an extra tip if they could make it up here in the next half hour. By the time Ella got out of the shower, the suite was buzzing with all of her best friends in matching pink silk pajamas, sipping on mimosas and eating fresh fruit and croissants.

A short while later, the makeup artist finally arrived, and Ella’s wedding coordinator, Michelle, took her out in the hall to have awordwith her. As she was handling that, she let me know that the caterer hadn’t arrived yet. I slipped out of the suite and went back down to my room to figure out how to deal with this whole mess without Ella finding out.

I had only been in there a few minutes when Dylan came inside, looking absolutely incredible in his suit. I was confused as to why he was dressed so early, but I decided to keep my curiosity to myself. At least someone was going to be ready on time.

“Grace? What’s wrong?” he asked as he came into the room.

“Hang on…the caterer isn’t here yet.”

“That’s…not good, right?”

“No, Dylan, it’s not good.”

He stared at me for a moment with an incredulous look on his face.

“I’m sorry. I’m just stressed.” I said, realizing that I had just snapped at him.

“Shouldn’t the wedding coordinator be the one worrying about that?”

“She’s dealing with the makeup artist who arrived two hours later than she was supposed to. So now everyone is behind schedule to get ready.”

“You guys can’t do your own makeup?”

My jaw nearly dropped to the floor. I glared at Dylan. How could someone so beautiful be so clueless sometimes?

“Right, sorry. Gotta have a makeup artist. So, why does the caterer need to be here so early? There’s still hours until dinner.”

“Do you know how long it takes to prepare food for 100 people?”

“No, actually, I don’t.”

“A long time! They should have been here by now. And I can’t tell Ella that they’re not here. She’ll lose her mind!”

Dylan grabbed my hands and held them tight.
