“I didn’t know what to do!”

“You were supposed to tell her!”

“How? You heard her. She didn’t want to talk to me. It wasn’t the right time.”

“Dylan, we have to just get this over with.”

“I know, I know. As soon as she gets home, I’ll talk to her.”

“It’s going to be way too late by then.”

“I don’t think we have another choice.”

She sighed, and resigned, knowing I was right. For once.

The next fewdays passed in a blur. Between the booze, sex, and sun, I found myself in a daze by the end of the week, but it was the best daze I had ever been in. Everything about Grace was intoxicating, and I never wanted to be away from her.

As we packed up to leave, I was dreading going back to the real world. We had both turned off our phones the night the picture was posted, and we had completely blocked out everything that was happening outside the walls of the resort.

Was it an immature and slightly irresponsible decision? Perhaps. But it was one that forced us to enjoy our last few days together. Two days after getting back to New York, I was leaving on a three-month long tour, and I wasn’t sure if I would see Grace during that time at all. I needed to savor every last second with her.

“You almost ready?” I called from the living room, “The car is going to be here any minute.”

“Almost!”

When Grace emerged from the bathroom, she was wearing faded blue jeans and a cropped black top. The small bit of skin peeking out from beneath the hem of her shirt was begging to be kissed. I couldn’t stop myself.

As I tasted her skin, all I wanted was more. I grabbed her ass and pulled her closer to me. I reached for the button on her pants, but she stopped me before I could get it undone.

“Didn’t you just say the car is going to be here soon?”

“Oh, we have time.”

“I’m not sure we do.”

“I’ll be quick,” I said with a growl.

Grace grabbed my chin and pulled me up to eye level, much to my disappointment.

“I have to work in the morning. I can’t miss this flight,” she said, before kissing my lips gently.

I grumbled my displeasure, but I knew she was right.

“You should have let me take you home on a private jet. Then we could take our time. And have a little fun on the plane.”

“You do remember the last time we were on a plane together, don’t you? I’d say that was plenty of airplane fun to last a lifetime.”

She turned to grab her suitcase and led me towards the door.

“Plus, now that we’re ‘public,’ we have to be a little more careful.”

I knew she was right, but I wasn’t going to give her the satisfaction. I followed her into the hallway and down the elevator. But I knew I would follow her to the ends of the earth if that’s where she wanted to go.

GRACE

As our flight landed in New York, I felt my heart grow heavy. I didn’t want to be without Dylan for months, and I was absolutely terrified about how Ella was going to react to everything. I wasn’t ready for our vacation to be over. I wanted to stay in paradise with him forever.
