“Is there something wrong, Mr. Woods?”

“No—no, everything looks great. Thank you so much.”

He slipped out of the cabana and I looked back at Grace.

“Well, there’s no use in letting it go to waste,” she said quietly.

Later that evening,we were back in our suite, and we had barely spoken since dinner. The sun was just dipping below the horizon when Grace hopped into bed next to me and laid her head on my chest.

“I think we need to say something.”

“To Ella?”

She nodded her head.

“She deserves to hear it from us.”

“So, you want to call her right now? On her honeymoon?”

“I don’t know what other choice we have.”

I sighed and reached for my phone on the bedside table.

“How do you know she hasn’t seen it yet already?”

“Don’t you think she would have said something if she had?”

I nodded and unlocked my phone. I took my sweet time finding Ella’s number. My finger hovered over the call button for far too long. Grace watched me intently, waiting for me to pull the trigger.

The phone started ringing, and my pulse picked up. I was silently praying that she wouldn’t answer, but I knew that with my luck, she definitely would.

“Dylan? Are you okay?” came Ella’s voice through the phone.

“Yeah, um, I’m okay.”

“Then why the hell are you calling me while I’m on my honeymoon?”

Grace bit her lip to keep from laughing. I should have known this is exactly how she would react.

“I’m sorry—I just—uh…”

“What?” she snapped.

Grace elbowed me in the side, encouraging me to continue.

“I just have something I want to talk to you about.”

“Really? Now? Can’t it wait until I am back in New York?”

Grace shook her head adamantly.

“Um…yeah. It can wait.”

“Okay. Bye. Please don’t call me again.”

The call ended and I was scared to look at Grace. I could feel her eyes burning holes through my flesh. I slowly looked up, and it was worse than I imagined. The scowl on her face could bring entire armies down.

“What the fuck?” she asked.
