I looked at my phone and it was nearly 5AM. They had to have come back by now, right? I mean, they were drunk, but surely someone in the group had enough sense to get them back before sunrise.

I cracked the door open, and to my surprise, saw that the suite was completely empty. I went into the bedroom I was sharing with Ella and plopped down onto the bed. I checked her location on my phone and saw she was just outside the hotel.

I had just enough time to brush my teeth and jump into bed so I could pretend that I had been here all along. Maybe I would tell her I wasn’t feeling well. Or maybe she didn’t even notice I was gone.

Just a minute or two after I had gotten into bed, the suite was flooded with chatter and laughter.

“She’s in here! Don’t worry!” someone called as they poked their head into my room.

The chatter only lasted a few minutes before it was silent again and I could hear the peaceful rhythm of all my best friends fast asleep.

DYLAN

The next evening, I still couldn’t believe that I had talked Grace into coming back to my suite with me. Though in all honesty, it didn’t really take much persuasion. She clearly wanted it just as much as I did.

I knew what she probably thought about me. It was the same thing that everyone thought about me. That I was just a playboy rockstar who hooked up with random women all the time, never looking for anything serious.

But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

I hadn’t slept with a woman in nearly two years, I wasn’t into random hookups. So I don’t know why I had given in so easily with Grace.

She seemed different from other girls. Aside from knowing exactly what she wanted, she was also brilliant and sexy and brave. I mean, no one else had ever told me that they hated me straight to my face.

She knew what she wanted and she wasn’t afraid to say it.

I spentmost of the day in the hotel suite, recovering from the night before and trying to come up with a plan to see Grace again. I wasn’t sure why she had such a hold on me, but knowing she was in the same hotel as me was driving me wild.

I decided to get some fresh air and go down to the pool. It was large and spacious with tons of trees and secluded sitting areas, so I was convinced I would be able to keep to myself and not cause an uproar with the other guests.

Of course, just like everything else in life, nothing went according to my plan. When I stepped outside, the first thing I saw was Grace wearing a hot pink bikini, standing on the side of the pool, dancing along to the music.

I looked around and realized that she was not the only one. In fact, all of Ella’s friends were dancing, and most of them had at least one drink in their hand. And all of them were wearing hot pink bathing suits. I started to sense a theme with their outfits for the weekend. I could only assume that Grace, the most obsessive and organized one in the bunch, was responsible for it. I scanned the group of girls and the pool for Ella, but couldn’t see her anywhere.

I started walking to the back corner of the pool area, hoping that none of them saw me, but luck was not in my favor. Ella came walking out from the shower area, dressed in all white. I should have known.

“Dylan!” she squealed when she spotted me. “What are you doing down here? Did Grace tell you this is where we would be?”

“What? Grace? No, of course not. Why would she have told me?”

Ella shrugged and didn’t seem to concerned about my stammered response.

“Well, at least come say hi to everyone,” Ella said.

She grabbed my arm and started pulling me towards the group of dancing girls who were still blissfully unaware of my presence.

“Look who’s here!”

“Dylan!” they all cheered in unison.

The girls flocked around me, but I noticed that Grace hung back a bit further than everyone else. She intentionally kept her eyes away from me as everyone started talking to me and thanking me for the great time last night.

When I finally freed myself from their clutches, I started heading towards the back corner where I could relax in peace. I looked back at Grace and shot her a quick wink before heading on my way. I knew that she was probably rolling her eyes at me right then, but I didn’t care.

I hadn’t meant to,but somehow I got the perfect view of Grace for the entire afternoon. Watching her dance and laugh with her friends reminded me how unbelievable last night had been. I longed to touch her skin again. I wanted to taste her. I wanted her lips all over my body.

I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to stop myself from thinking about all the filthy things I wanted to do to her, but it was no use. Even with my eyes closed, all I could see was her. I needed her again. I needed her now, but I knew that couldn’t happen.
