“I got something they call jeans; I think you will like it and the T-shirts.” I wonder what these jeans are, but whatever it is, I will have to use them until we reach our parents.

“Did you get me a hoodie?” Shok asks. With his pronounced features and size, it is clear that he isn’t human, but I’m not sure a hoodie will fit his size.

“Yes, and let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. You do know it’s summer now, so hoodies are scarce, and if you go outside in one, they are going to think you are a criminal,” Trek quips as he takes the last bite of his food.

Shok shrugs and grins. “Just because I’m perfect doesn’t mean you have to hate,” he teases. Trek raises a brow at him as he continues. “Remember who all the women were after last time we were here?”

“What? You mean the statues?” Trek teases, which has all of us laughing as Shok shrugs good-naturedly. Being a Gargoyle among other Fae isn’t always easy, as most say that Gargoyles have hearts of stone, but I know the truth. Shok has the kindest heart, and it is definitely not made of stone.

“Did you like someone when you were here?” Love asks, a frown adorning her petite face.

“No, no, I’m just joking,” Shok replies as he raises his hand to scratch his head. Love looks over at Trek to get his comments, but Trek simply shrugs in reply. I wonder if Drez liked anyone when he was here, but if he did, I don’t want to know about it, because I will start obsessing, wondering what she looked like, how she was, and it will get me into a bad mood.

“I’m done. Where are my clothes and I will go change,” Shok says, changing the subject, which has Hope inclining her head towards the bags that Trek placed on the ground when they arrived. He lifts one bag, then another before he finds the hoodie that Trek and Hope got for him. I see that there is also a T-shirt and a pair of dark-blue pants. “You found jeans that will fit me?” Shok asks as he looks at the pants that I now know is what they call jeans.

“Well, we hope it fits you,” Hope says as she finishes her meal before turning to Shok. “Hand me the bag.” Shok reaches towards it, but Trek beats him to it. Taking the bag, she starts to pull out items of clothing, distributing them to all of us. In the meantime, Shok leaves to go get dressed. I lift my T-shirt and jeans up to look at them and smile as I see that my T-shirt is black with a Witch on a broom in silver across the front.

“I see you chose the clothes,” Love says as she starts to laugh as Trek lifts his T-shirt up and we see the words across it sayI’m a real dog. I cannot hold it in when he turns it towards himself and reads the words. His frown is dark as he glares at Hope. As a Werewolf, being called a dog is the worst thing anyone can call them. Werewolves do not like to be placed in the same category as dogs.

“Very funny,” he mutters as he also turns and follows in the direction Shok went.

“I guess I better also go get changed. You three can change in here and come out when you’re done,” Drez says as he follows the other two men.

“That was so mean,” Love says, still smiling.

“He has been getting on my nerves the whole day. He deserved it,” Hope mutters as she stands. “Shall we change? I’m curious to see how these jeans look.”

“Where can we change? Anyone can look in here with all these windows,” I say, only to have Love take hold of my hand and pull me behind her.

“It’s really small in there, but it’s private,” Love says as she opens a door and shows me what must be a bathroom, but which is so small that anyone will have difficulty to move. “Apparently it’s the toilets they have in the trains for anyone who might need them. Just leave the door open. When you’re done, I will go in and change, and like that, it’s private.”

I change while Love stands at the door. Just as I finish, Hope walks up to the door, already wearing her jeans and a purple top. “What do you think?” she asks as she twirls around.

“Where did you get changed?” I ask, looking behind her to see if there is anywhere else she could have gone.

“In the other bathroom on the other side,” she says. “So?”

“I think those jeans look really good on you, and the top fits your body perfectly,” Love says. “You, too, Dream. I think if mine looks as good on me as they do on the two of you, then I have just found myself a new favourite.”

I step out of the toilet, pleased to be out of that tight space. “I wonder if we will see Mom and Dad today?” I say. Not speaking to them on the phone every week like we used to has made me miss them. Even though they’re not around often, we love them dearly and they love us. We know that everything they do is to keep us safe, and I know that if my father knows that something is threatening his daughters, he will move heaven and hell to keep us safe.

“I don’t know. Trek seemed concerned with the fact that we hadn’t seen any Fae while we were out. According to him, we should have at least seen one.” I frown. Is it possible that the Fae here are in danger?

“How does it look?” Love asks as she steps out of the bathroom in her jeans and blue T-shirt. I smile at her as she twirls.

“Looks great,” I say.

“Suits you, Love,” Hope says, and then she takes my hand, squeezing it gently. “Whatever is going on in Eternity Fae, hopefully we will figure it out soon with Mom and Dad’s help.”

“I just think that if Dad knew about the shadows, he would have been there already fighting them. I’m worried that something might have happened to them.” After broaching my concerns, I feel guilty in worrying them too.

“I’m sure they are fine, and they just don’t know that anything is happening, or they might just be fighting whatever it is from out here,” Hope says with a smile as she starts leading the way out of the train, our normal clothes in a bag so that we can carry it with us. Looking around, I see that there is nothing left behind to indicate that we might have been here.

Making our way outside, I see the three men on the other side to where we are, a serious look on their faces. “Well, hello there, you sexy ladies,” Shok says, which has Drez glaring at him and Trek punching him in the arm. “What?”

“Thank you, Shok. It’s nice to feel appreciated,” Hope says, which has Trek frowning at her and Shok grinning as he tweaks his eyebrows at the other two men.

“Watch and learn,” he says.
