“Do you know what we are?” Tor asks, his question has me glancing at Haldor to make sure that I won’t be getting him into trouble if I say yes. Haldor smiles down at me and nods in comfort.

“Yes,” I reply which has Tor glancing at Haldor before returning his eyes to me. “I am glad that Haldor has found you, it saves me having to kill the fucker.” It takes me a second to register what he has said, gasping I stand, I don’t know what I think I will do, the man before me is like a mountain next to me.

“He’s joking,” Haldor interjects, realizing that I am panicking at what Tor has just said. Haldor’s hand strokes my back, goose bumps rising up my back. A grin is now adorning Tor’s masculine face, but his eyes are still intensely looking deep into my soul.

“Are you here of your own free will?” Tor asks, I want to say that I am here under duress and that I want to leave, and deep down I do, but there is something stronger wanting me to stay. I know I have to go, but everything in me is telling me to stay. Glancing at Haldor I see his tense features, realizing that my answer could get Haldor into trouble, I am answering before I even realize. “Yes, I am.” I sense Haldor relaxing with my answer.

I don’t want to get Haldor into trouble, after all, from what he has explained this isn’t something that he can help. “I came of my own free will but I need to go back.”

“No” Haldor’s angry reply has my stomach tensing.

“If you are here of your own free will, why do you want to leave?” Tor asks as he raises his hand to quieten Haldor. I take in a deep breath, even though I know its madness I would rather stay, but I know that’s not possible as I will not be to blame for people getting hurt because of me. My family are proud people, they will never let it go that Haldor came and took me away from them without their consent.

“My family will come for me, and there will be problems.” At my revelation I see Tor glancing at Haldor before he looks back at me and shrugs.

“If they want a fight, we will be happy to oblige.” Before he has finished his sentence, I am shaking my head. No matter what, I can’t let them get into a fight because of me, there will be casualties, I will not be responsible for anyone getting hurt.

“No,” I realize my answer is sharper than I would want but I can’t help the fear rising within me. “If I go back, I will convince them to stand down.” I see Tor’s eyebrows rise before he turns towards Haldor.

“Who is coming?” he asks, “why is it that all of you bring me problems when you find your mates?”

“Druza’s family are gypsy, and they were not happy when she came with us.” Tor nods at Haldor’s explanation before he turns his eyes back to me.

“You are one of us now, if you are Haldor’s then there is no force on this earth that will take you away.” He frowns as he continues, “if you are worried about them getting hurt, you don’t need to as we won’t hurt humans unless they attack us.”

I want to tell him that I know that they will attack, that I’m not just worried for them but also for everyone here. If they find me they will attack with everything they have and unfortunately for their opponents they don’t fight fair, they will do anything it takes to profit from this and if they can’t then they will destroy everything in their way.

“Don’t worry Druza, we have been in worse situations then this throughout our existence.” Haldor says as he lifts his hand to the back of my head and gently strokes my hair. The soothing action contradicts his dangerous energy.

“Druza,” Tor calling my name has my eyes snapping to his, “you will abide by our rules, you will learn our ways.” His words have my hands fisting, I have spent my whole life being told what to do, how to act, where to go. Just when I thought I was getting a little freedom this happened.

“You are frightening the poor girl; she will think we are a bunch of cavemen.” Eirik that is still standing behind the bar says. Tor grunts at his words but then nods as he looks at Haldor.

“We will talk later,” he states and starts to turn but then stops and looks at me again, “what power do you have?” His words surprise me, of everything he could have asked I never thought that would be it.

“Umm,” I’m not sure its much of a power but I guess it’s a gift that not everyone has. “If someone asks me a question I am able to see the outcome,” my answer seems to please him as he finally turns away and walks towards where Eirik is standing.

“Our turn,” a man that was standing behind Tor says with a wink at me. This one has a real daredevil look to him, I don’t know what’s in the Elementals DNA but being drop dead sexy is one of them, there isn’t one of them that I have seen until now that I can say isn’t handsome.

“Piss off Colborn,” Haldor mutters as he places his arm around my shoulders and starts to guide me towards the door where Tor came through. There are another two men that have come to sit at a table close to us, they are both looking at me and Haldor, my stomach is fluttering with nervousness, my heart is racing with fear.

After seeing what Haldor did back at camp, I can only imagine how dangerous these men can be, I know that they don’t understand why I need to go back, why I need to try and stop a fight, a fight that will be unfair because my family will fight dishonorably and even though I’m sure these men can defend themselves I don’t want anyone to get hurt because of me.

The thought of leaving is making me more and more anxious; I would never have believed a word Haldor had said if I didn’t feel this strong connection between him and me. His touch is like a balm on a burn that has been scorched by lava. I don’t have any option but to believe him as there is no other imaginable answer for what has happened, and for the way that I am feeling.

“Hey sugar, ignore his grumpiness; we aren’t all like that.” Colborn says as he smiles and then punches Haldor on his shoulder. Haldor grunts in annoyance but stops making his way towards the door.

“You can be such a pain you know?” Haldor mutters as he shakes his head at Colborn. “Druza, this is Colborn the biggest asshole at the club.” He introduces, then lifts his hand to point towards another man. “That is Dane and Asger,” both men nod in greeting.

“Nice to meet you” I say and even though I’m feeling out of place I can’t help smiling at Colborn’s comical expression.

“You such a clown!” Haldor mutters as he takes my hand and guides me out of the bar area, this time making it without any interruptions. I am so nervous now that I have already forgotten all the names of the men that he has introduced me to. I hear my heart racing in my ears like thunder rumbling in the sky, my breath seems to be stuck in my throat like a ball of cotton.

Haldor suddenly stops and turns to look at me, before I can say anything his lips are against mine, his arms are wrapping themselves around me, pulling me close against his body. The heat of his body seems to be penetrating my every fiber, his taste like an intoxicating substance that leaves me high with unknown adrenaline.

I have never been kissed so passionately, it’s hard to tell where he starts, and I end. I feel his muscles rippling under my fingers as they run up his forearms. An overwhelming feeling of wanting to be one with this man overtakes my every thought, I don’t think I will ever have enough of him, that I will ever be able to step away. My hands snake around his neck as I hold onto him with every shred of strength I have. I never felt so much like I am feeling at this moment.

I only realize that Haldor has picked me up when he suddenly breaks the kiss and is leaning forward to open a door behind me. Instead of trying to get down and away from him I lay my head against his chest, I know this moment won’t last, I know that soon I will have to make my way back home and try and appease my father’s anger, try and stop his wrath.
