Waking up in Haldor’s arms had me wanting to stay in bed for the rest of the day, I have never felt like I do with him. “Helloooo,” Haldor calls from the other side of the kitchen table, a frown on his handsome face, “earth to Druza,” I smile, shaking my head.

Dag is sitting next to Haldor, a grin on his face. I know I must have missed something while I was daydreaming. A few minutes after I woke up this morning, I was contemplating seducing Haldor awake when Dag came to knock on our bedroom door. Haldor was instantly awake, and to my frustration insisting on us getting ready as we had a lot to do. Since leaving the room and meeting Dag in the kitchen that the two men have been discussing the Doctor.

Violet offered me coffee, she’s Tal’s mate. When I first met her, I was memorized by the color of her eyes, they are the lightest green that I have ever seen. She is beautiful, and really nice, all the women I met yesterday are really friendly. She’s in the process of making breakfast, and by the number of fried eggs and toast she is making I would think she will be feeding a regiment.

I am startled, when Dag slides a pad of paper and pen before me, “you can write it on there.” I realize that Dag must have been talking to me and that I was so distracted with my own thoughts that I didn’t hear anything he said except when he placed the paper and pen before me.

“Umm…” I look from Dag to Haldor and back again, “what would you like me to write down?” I see both their surprised look. “Sorry, I was distracted.” I confess feeling my cheeks heat with embarrassment.

“The names of everyone at your camp, first and last name. Also, what their occupation is or what are they making money with.” I frown at Dag’s query; I wonder why they want everyone’s name but decide not to ask and trust them to know what they are doing.

Lowering my eyes to the paper, I start to write down what they requested, it takes me awhile but I finally have on paper everything. “I hope this will help.” I say as I hand the pen and paper back to Dag.

“I’m sure it will,” Dag declares looking down at the list.

“Here,” Haldor says pushing a plate of toast, eggs and sausage towards me, “eat something.” Looking at the plate I feel my mouth water, the minute that Violet started preparing breakfast I have felt hunger gnawing at me.

“Thank you,” I murmur smiling at Haldor and then up at Violet that has come to sit next to me.

“My pleasure, if you want anything you must feel free to come and get it, and if we don’t have it just add it to that list on the side of the fridge and it will be bought.” Violet explains inclining her head towards the fridge a smile lifting her mouth when her mate Tal walks in.

“Why didn’t you wake me up woman?” he asks as he leans down and kisses her.

“You looked so tired I thought better to let you sleep.” She teases, and by the gleam in his eye I can tell that her comment has somehow amused him. “I also made you some breakfast, I want to make sure that you keep your energy up.”

“You minx,” he growls jokingly before he lowers his head to her neck and starts to make as if he’s nibbling at her which has her breaking out in laughter. Glancing at Dag and Haldor I realize that they are both focused on the list I wrote and completely oblivious to Tal and Violets playfulness.

I have lived my whole life surrounded by people, some have grown up with me. We have had parties, funerals even weddings and not once did I feel a part of something like I do here. Yesterday when I met all the women, Freya which is Dane’s mate, Esmeralda that is Dag’s mate and that has had his child, Siena which is Eirik’s mate, Anastasia which is Ulrich’s, and Violet that is Tal’s. I saw a friendship, a closeness that I haven’t seen before. It was clear that they genuinely liked each other and that they meant everything they said. I am used to suspecting everything I am told, judging the actions of those around me. Here I feel like I don’t have to be on my guard, something which is alien to me. I still find myself questioning everything everyone tells me, but deep down something is telling me that everyone is very genuine with what they are telling me.

Haldor taking my hand in his has my gaze jumping to him to find his eyes on me. His thumb stroking my wrist. “Are you okay?” he asks with a raised brow, “you seem distracted.”

“Yes,” I reply feeling everyone’s eyes on me.

“Then why aren’t you eating?” his question has my eyes dropping to my plate to find most of my food still there. I shrug as I pick up a piece of toast and bring it to my lips feeling his eyes follow every movement.

“I’m just distracted today,” he frowns.

“Do you want something else to eat?” his question has me shaking my head as I reply.

“No, this is perfect.” I look at Violet and smile to assure her that I’m enjoying her efforts, which I am. Usually all I have is a piece of fruit before starting my day, that today I actually had someone making me breakfast is a real treat. “Stop making a fuss, I really am enjoying this.”

“Well, I’m off.” Dag says as he stands, “I’ll come looking for you if I find anything.” Haldor grunts in reply but his eyes remain on me as I continue eating.

“What time are we leaving?” Tal asks as he takes a seat next to Haldor, leaning forward he starts to fill his plate with food.

“Around two,” Haldor replies before taking a sip of his coffee.

“Oh, where are you going?” Violet asks in surprise.

“We will be back tomorrow, we are just keeping an eye on Tor’s mate.” Tal’s statement has Violet dropping her fork as she stares at Tal.

“Since when does Tor have a mate?” she asks in surprise. I see Tal shrug as he places a piece of sausage into his mouth.

“They haven’t bonded, but he has known about her for a while.” Haldor confesses.

“Why haven’t they bonded, doesn’t she want him?” Violet asks with a surprised expression on her face.
