"I have another idea you might like better."

He brushes a curl behind my ear. "Oh, yeah?"

"Move in with me. You're here all the time, anyway."

He grimaces. "Not sure your sisters will want me living here."

"Two of my sisters are moving out in a few months and they all adore you. Eventually, we can build a cabin just for us on the property, but I'm tired of waking up without you in my bed three days a week."

He shakes his head. "That was one week."

"It was the worst week ever. Move in with me so I can wake up with you every morning, every week, no matter what."

It doesn't make sense for me to move in with Grant. I need to be on the farm with the animals.

He drops his forehead to mine and kisses the tip of my nose. "You're kind of stealing my thunder here."

I lean back, confused. "What?"

He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a velvet box. He lifts the lid and inside is a small, but gorgeous, diamond. "Dani Weston, I love you. You have the biggest heart of anyone I know. You are my soul mate, not because we saved each other's lives, but because we saved each other's hearts." He winces. "That sounded better in my head. The point is, I choose you, Dani, because I love you. Not because I believe we're linked by chance or some cosmic imperative, but because I choose you every day over and over again. I want to keep choosing you every day for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?"

Tears spring to my eyes. "I don't need a ring, Grant. Do you know how much grain we could buy with whatever you spent?"

"You deserve a ring." There's so much love in his eyes that my heart skips a beat. "We can afford for you to have a diamond and more grain for our animals."

That's what really gets me, that he isn't just willing to go along with this chaotic farm and the mess that comes with it, he's in it with me one hundred percent. It isn't just my farm and my animals, it's ours, because we're partners.

"Okay." I pull the ring out of the box and slip it on my finger. "I'll marry you, Grant. Because I love you and the animals would never forgive me if I pushed you away again."

"Glad you think the animals approve." He slides his hands into my pants to grip my bare ass and pull me tighter against him. He's hard and I'm wet and I wish we weren't in a barn in the midst of a crowded fundraiser.

"We should probably—"

He holds me tighter against him when I try to pull away. "I paid Henry and Honey twenty bucks apiece to make sure we're uninterrupted for the next half hour or so."

I grin, lean back, and pull off my shirt. "Grant Holiday, you are a genius."

He kisses me, because there's no point in wasting any more time.
