He falls beside me. “Fuck, babe, was that too much? Did I hurt you?”

I turn my face to him because he has to hear my words but also see the ecstasy on my face. “You hurt me in all the right ways.”

His arms pull me into his body, and with him, I’m alive again.

“And this is justthe first floor?” he asks, as we conserve water in the large bathroom off the rec room. It connects with the indoor pool, and Clark is awestruck by our pool in the house.

“Turn around,” I demand, taking a large portion of body wash and washing his back, every once in a while reaching around him, and giving his cock a tug. His growl he lets loose each and every time has me wanting to bend him over and take him again, but our food will be here in less than ten minutes.

“You keep doing that, I’ll have you text the guard gate and tell them to hold it for us, buster.”

I crack up at his silly little nickname for me. “Buster, huh? Wow, Farmer, you know how to really wow me with your terms of endearment.”

He whips his face toward mine, his hand now on my cock. “Yeah, I’ll show you how it’s done.” Clark leans in and crashes his lips with mine. But it’s not long before the doorbell rings. “How the hell can you hear the doorbell in here?”

I point to a tablet embedded in the wall. “It’s our security system. I can enable certain rooms to hear certain things. Anyway, we better not keep the night guard waiting, baby.”

He steps out of the shower and I follow suit, but my hair is full of shampoo. “Let me get it, Xan, while you finish up.”

“That yellow button,” I point toward the mirror, “talks to the front door. Tell them you’re on your way, and I’ll meet you in the living room.”

It seems so domestic, this thing between us, and honestly, I love it.

CLARK

Ilean back in the shower, as I’m toweling my body off, only to give him a peck on the lips. “Got it. But you need to hurry, Lynol. I’m hangry and I won’t be waiting for you,” I tease and pull one of the many robes they keep in this bathroom and wrap the belt around me, securing my manhood behind it so I won’t offend the guards.

“I’m right behind you, farm boy,” he calls as the shower turns off. I make my way through the maze of this first floor and to the grand door. Pulling it back, I expect to smell our beef curry and pad Thai but instead, I stand in front of a man I barely know, but who happens to know Xan intimately.

“Oh, um, Clark?” he asks as though he doesn’t know my name.

“David?” I reply in the same question-like way, but he’s already taking in my wet hair and the white robe. He’s coming to conclusions that are most likely true.

“Yeah. I’m sorry. I guess, well, fuck, I don’t know what I was expecting, Clark, but this was the last thing.” He points his finger from the bottom of my robe to the top of my wet hair. “I didn’t want Xander to be alone tonight…” He doesn’t finish his sentence, or maybe he does, though I don’t know how to respond. I could tell him we were enjoying a nighttime swim in the indoor pool but I won’t cheapen his education.

“Baby, where’s our food?” Xan calls out from behind me, and I move to the side to show that David is on his doorstep.

“Oh, shit. Um…” His eyes dart from me to David and back at me. “Clark, babe, can you give us a second?” he asks. I walk away from David, but Xan can still see me.

“Wow, Xander, I have to say this was the last thing I expected to see, you and your arch-enemy in matching robes and wet hair as if you shared a shower.” His tone isn’t accusatory, but very sympathetic, almost understanding.

There’s a grin that crosses Xan’s face. “Yeah, I’m sure it’s weird for you, given that we hated each other for so long.”

I know David is a fucking fine-looking man but with the way Xan faces him, he doesn’t look at his ex-boyfriend like he looks at me.

“Well, you know what they say, right?” David asks.

“Not sure,” Xan answers, a slight grin on his face.

“There’s a thin line between love and hate. And you crossed it. And fuck, Xander, I hope it works out.” David lets out a long sigh and I wonder how this will end. “I came by to make sure you weren’t alone tonight, and it looks as if you’re not, so my job here is done.”

I think the conversation is over and Xan begins, “Hey, David, thanks for coming today. I know it was a long flight, but it means so much to me that you were here. My mother really loved you.”

He steps through the threshold of the door and his eyes dart to mine but as he gives him a hug, one I’ve seen Xan give Micah several times, there’s nothing there. He pulls back. “I loved that woman, too, so much. She was an angel. Your old man, not so much but I am truly sorry, Xander.”
