Blaine rolls his eyes. “Nowthatsounds like something Will would threaten you with. But I promise you that Parker won’t send you away. He’s way too enthralled with you for that.”

I don’t know about all that.

“What powers?” Blaine’s blue eyes sparkle.

I sigh, my shoulders slumping forward. “I’m not really sure. There is this whole fire thing and I teleport. It’s hard to explain. But Will slipped and was dangling from a cliff. I got scared and teleported us on accident.”

“Fire and teleportation.” He furrows his brows. “I’ve never heard of that one before. But it’s cool. I think you should tell Parker the truth.” He pauses. “And your dad.”

My heart races. “I told my dad some. But when I did, he ran away, like he couldn’t handle the truth. He’s hardly talked to me at all since.”

“Have youtriedto talk to him?”

Blaine’s question makes my stomach ache with guilt.

Maybe he’s right. Maybe I haven’t tried to talk to him. When he’s home, I’m either gone or in my room. We never even hang out anymore. Dad probably doesn’t know how to act around me anymore. I know I certainly don’t know how to act around him. It’s strange.

“I’ll talk to him,” I say.

“Which him?” Blaine asks.

“My dad.” I lower my head, not wanting to see his reaction.

“Vixen, you know you have to talk to Parker too, right?”

I nod, still not looking up. “I will. I just… I need a little time.” Finally, I look into his eyes. “I’m scared. Promise me you’ll keep my secret until I’m ready to tell him.”

“I promise I won’t tell. It’s not my place to,” Blaine says. “But I think you should tell him soon. Don’t wait too long. Parker cares about you a lot. I know Will can twist things around and make you believe things that aren’t true. But don’t listen to him. Parker’s crazy about you.”

My heart skips a beat.

Blaine smirks. “I guess that answers my next question.”

“What question?” My cheeks grow warm as I realize he heard my heart go crazy at the mention of Parker.

He wiggles his eyebrows at me. “My question on whether you feel the same about Parker as he does about you. Clearly, you’re head over heels for him.”

I nod. “Can you keep that between us?”

He chuckles. “I hate to break it to you, Vixen, but I’m pretty sure he already knows.”

“He does?” I put a hand at the base of my throat. “Then why does he still talk to me? He shouldn’t.”

“Will doesn’t see it, but I do.” Blaine gives me a sad smile. “Whatever is happening between you and Parker is strong. It’s clear that you both love one another. I’m not sure what fate has in store, but I know you two are connected for a reason. I guess time will tell.”

He thinks Parkerlovesme?

Does he?

Blaine puts his hand on my shoulder. “Don’t overthink it. I know you’re a girl and girls like to overthink things, but everything will work out. You will see.”

I hope he’s right.

“Want to make out until school is over?” Blaine wiggles his eyebrows at me.

I roll my eyes at him, but can’t help but smile. “Parker would kill you if you even tried.”

He sighs. “Sadly, you’re right. I guess I’ll have to settle for friendship.”
