Epilogue

Liza

AMonthLater

The sun was starting to set on Santa Monica beach. Liza and Miller walked along the path with Randall and Snowdrop trotting happily in front of them.

Liza looked over at Miller and shook her head. How is this my life?

Miller had been in LA for less than a week. It felt like they were just beginning their happily ever after—which made Liza anxious. What if it’s too good to be true?

“What are you thinking?” Miller asked, peering over at her.

Liza sighed. “That my life is too perfect and will probably fall apart soon.”

“What happened to Liza Eckland, the sunny optimist?"

“I guess I’ve never had so many good things to lose.”

Miller draped his arm around Liza's shoulders. “Well, I read this inspirational quote on Instagram the other day.”

Liza smirked and nudged him. “Iknowyou’re making fun of me, but my quotes areextremelyinspirational.”

“I am making fun of you a little, but in all seriousness—I have a quote for you.”

Liza raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

“Well, it’s actually more of a fact.” Miller turned and began walking backwards in front of her. “Exercise gives you endorphins, which make you happy. And happy people don’t worry about the future.” Then he turned around, jogging away from her.

Liza shook her head, beaming.

Then she took off running after him.
