I love this. I love the way he feels pulsing inside me. I love the vibrations from the rumbles in his chest as he comes.

I’m falling so hard and fast for him.

The words are at the tip of my tongue waiting to be cried out. I bite his shoulder to stop them from giving my heart away.

And then it all stills.

My body is like jello as I collapse into him.

Nick wraps his arms around me, holding me into his chest.

We stay there taking each other in, listening to our heavy breaths even out. His hands roam up and down my back soothing me.

“So, when’s our second date?” Nick laughs and I pinch his nipple. “Ow!” He cries with a rumble in his chest.

“I’ll pick the next date.” I declare with an idea already in mind.

“Good, because when Greg finds out I didn’t follow any of his rules he’s not going to help me out on the second one.” Nick laughs again, trailing light touches down my arm making my skin prickle.

I shiver and lift up to get dressed.

We fumble around, squeezing between each other with accidental jabs.

Car sex is fun and all but not with a large six-foot man in a tiny BMW coupe. He awkwardly slides into the driver side when pulling on my romper isn’t working out with him under me. He’s lucky he’s pretty much still fully dressed with his pants just around his calves and his shirt still on with the buttons undone.

“None of the other guys in the hockey house are willing to give you advice?” I ask after finally being able to settle in.

Nick puts the defroster on to defog the window and laughs at my question.

“Luca said paintball, and Holt’s first rule was to get naked, and then they both agreed the best date would be naked laser tag.” He shakes his head.

I laugh, because I wouldn’t expect anything less from them.

Nick starts to leave the parking lot, becoming quiet. We’ve hit an awkwardness. Sex is usually followed by someone leaving or someone passing out or both. We’ve already had something that would break the silence, but now it’s just a twenty-minute drive back.

“This is awkward.” I blurt out, not able to stop myself.

Nick lets out a sigh and rolls his lips.

“Sorry. I said I wouldn’t bring this up, but now it’s on my mind and I can’t think of anything else to say.” He admits looking frustrated and hurt.

Oh.

What could he possibly be thinking about? Was it something I said?

Or something I did?

“How do you know Holt?”Oh.“Like I know you know him, but he seemed all chummy with you on the phone.” Nick glances at me for my reaction. “I understand if you hooked up with him. I really can’t get mad, but not knowing is killing me.”

He takes my hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze.

He continues speaking when I don’t answer right away. “Holt’s into some weird shit, and if—”

“He didn’t tell you?” I cut him off. I don’t want to know what Holt’s into.

I thought he would’ve said something after that call.

Nick shakes his head.
