I have no idea what he’s talking about. So far, his distractions aren’t verydelightful.

No one understands what he’s saying.

“Not really a gala like you’re talking about, but what about a Skate Ball? Everyone can dress up all fancy and dance while they skate on the ice.” He explains with his mouth full, as if it’s nothing. “You can play music and have food. To get people to go, you can have it at the hockey rink. We don’t have any games during finals week. Hold it around then, like a celebratory end of semester party before everyone leaves to go home.”

I grab his forearm, without thinking. I’m in awe of him. It’s a perfect idea. His eyes reach mine and I’m lost.

I see him.

My savior.

This sweet fun guy that wants to help me. He wants to care for me like no one has ever done before.

“Great idea,” Renna clears her throat. “I don’t mean to break up the sex eyes.” My cheeks get hot along with the rest of my body. “But one thing no one is thinking about, how do we get the hockey rink? They never use it for any special events. We could be able to use the vendors there for food, or at least a couple of them. We’ll need skate rentals for those that don’t have any.”

Penny’s hand shoots up with excitement.

“Penny, you don’t have to raise your hand.” I say, telling her to speak.

“Callie’s been flirting with the guy that works the skate rentals. She might be able to work something out with that. “

“Ok, we’ll get Callie on skate rentals. Dani, can you work the numbers with our funds available to see how much we can spend for food and skates? I don’t think people should have to pay for a ticket, then pay for food and skates.” I’m in complete plan-it mode now and take charge. “Luca, do you have any pull at the rink?”

“I can ask around,” he says, not seeming too sure.

“See what you can find out, and I’ll do the same. Please,” I add, because Luca doesn’t have to do anything for us.

“I can do that for you.” He nods with a wink and a zap of lust hits me right between my legs.

I shake it off and turn my attention to the others. “Renna, don’t you know the guy who sells the hot dogs? I always see you talking to him at the games.”

“The dirty water dog guy?”

Luca snorts, choking on his food.

“I only flirt with him to get free hot dogs,” Renna explains.

Dani makes a suggestive motion with her fist to her mouth and her tongue inside her cheek.

“I’ll figure out what I can about the food vendors.” Renna blushes and quickly agrees to change the subject.

“Great! Next order of business is how to behead Marie Antoinette.” We all glare over at Chelsea’s table, who’s not even bothering to pay us any attention.

We spent the next hour eating and discussing the steps to my challenge of taking over as President of Delta Nu. The process will not be fun and it could split our house tremendously, but the house is already split in two and breaking us apart. As far as we know, Chelsea has half the house under her, and she’s closer to a lot more than I am.

Luca is losing interest by the time we’re done and has been quiet until we’re ready to leave.

“You didn’t have to stay through all that,” I say as we head out to the parking lot.

I’m anxious. By tomorrow, the entire Delta Nu sorority will know I challenged Chelsea’s position. I’m nervous about how everyone will react. ‘Not’ everyone will accept it.

“It’s ok. It was interesting finding out the ways of the Delta’s. You guys take this stuff seriously.”

“We should, but that’s exactly what Chelsea isn’t doing. She’s driving a rift between all of us.”

“Are you coming with us?” Dani asks, pointing at her car.

“I’ll see you guys back home.” I motion the opposite way, towards Luca’s Jeep.
