“Holy shit. This is bad. Amy is a puck bunny, but my brother doesn’t see it. He’s blind,” she explains. “That’s why Mom is so upset.”

“Damn.” I bite my lower lip.

“Yeah.” She nods.

“And they are having a large wedding. Do you know what that means?”

I wait.

“No.” She shakes her head.

“That a certain someone will be there,” I say, trying to keep my voice low.

She still looks confused.

“Andrew will be there. I’m screwed. I thought I would never have to see him again but then little Hunter, of all people, has to go and get married,” I practically cry.

“Little Hunter isn’t so little, and he knocked a girl up. I can’t believe my brother could be so irresponsible. He always has his head tight on his shoulders.”

“Is that even a saying?” I ask.

“I don’t know.” She shrugs. “This is messed up. That’s what I know.”

“Well, your dad said we need to support him, so that’s what we have to do. Sounds like your parents are planning a big shebang for him in Chicago. I just need to fake sickness and not attend.”

“Are you effing crazy?” she blurts. “You have to come.”

“I can’t see him. I just can’t do it. Seeing him will bring back all the bad memories, it will remind me of what a naïve fool I was.”

“Just bring Evan to the wedding with you and stay the hell away from Andrew,” Quinn suggests.

“That’s actually a great idea.”

“Right. I’m full of good ideas,” Quinn cheers.

“Okay, can we leave the bathroom?” I ask my cousin.

“By all means.” She waves.

We head back over to the table since everyone is now seated for dessert. Everyone is caught up in talking about Hunter’s upcoming wedding.

“Just make sure you check with me and your dad about setting a date,” my dad reminds Hunter.

“Of course,” Hunter agrees. “You guys are all the most important people in my lives. I need you all there.”

He is such a sweet boy. Aunt Sloane is right. I just hope Amy has good intentions.

As everyone is enjoying all kinds of delicious pies my stomach is turning. I don’t want to see Andrew. I clearly don’t want him anymore, but seeing him will dredge up old memories I’d rather forget.

After dessert, I sit with Skylar and Liam. Crew is asleep on the couch with a blanket when Evan walks over to us.

“We want to move out of the apartment as soon as possible,” Skylar shares.

“That’s amazing. I’m so happy for you,” I reply.

“That means you should start packing,” Sky points out, poking at my thigh.

“I will. It will be much easier to live close to the arena.”
