Hoodoo turns to Grudge shaking his head. “If you tell the guys about this, I will end yo—”

Click.

The flash from my phone’s camera goes off, and I burst out laughing, taking a couple of quick succession pictures to prove this is happening. Hoodoo spins his head around, glaring at me. “I hate you, Maxxy,” Hoodoo snaps.

“No, you don’t.” I giggle as I look at the pictures on my screen. Turning to wave goodbye to Charlotte, I’m suddenly pulled down to sit on Hoodoo’s lap. I let out a small squeal as he grips me tightly. My arms fly up in the air, and my cell falls to the floor as he holds me to him. “The fuck?” I growl.

“If I have to go out of here on a fucking wheelchair, you’re sitting on my lap and protecting me from anyone who might see me,” he states so matter-of-factly I can’t help but smile.

I try to wriggle off him as Grudge picks up my cell, placing it in his pocket. “Fuck no, Hoodoo. I’m not riding you out of here.”

He smirks, tilting his head. “I know it’s not the same as riding me for real, which is what you really wanna do, but this will have to suffice for now. Grudge, let’s go,” he instructs, and my eyes widen in shock at his forwardness.

I shove him, and he winces in pain. “You fucking wish. You couldn’t afford me.”

He chuckles. “Didn’t know people had to pay for your services, Maxxy. This explains some things.” He grins wide.

“Fuck you!” I growl.

“Fuck you right back.” He chuckles, and I can’t be sure, but I think I can feel his cock beneath me getting hard. Maybe I am imagining things, but either way, I know me sitting on his lap and this back-and-forth between us is making my clit throb.

What the fuck is wrong with me?

“Urgh, let’s just go. Grudge, get us the hell outta here,” I urge.

He chuckles, shaking his head from side to side, watching us, while I wave to Charlotte.

“I’m going to miss you guys and your banter,” Charlotte calls out as Grudge wheels us down the hall.

“Like a hole in the head,” Hoodoo grumbles, his hands still wrapped around my waist, holding me to him, making sure I don’t fall. Everyone we pass looks at us like we’re fucking crazy as I ride Hoodoo’s lap all the way to the exit.

But I don’t care what we look like.

This feels really fucking nice.

Grudge wheels us outside, and as the bitter winter air hits Hoodoo’s face, he takes a deep breath, and a slow smile crosses his lips. “Damn, it’s good to smell the fresh air. Even if it is thirty-two degrees out.”

Regrettably, I stand from his lap, my fingers feeling numb from the cold, and tilt my head toward the parking lot. “You okay to walk, or do you want me to bring the car ’round?”

He scowls. “I’m not broken, Maxxy. Icanwalk. It’s just over there. I didn’t need this damn wheelchair.”

“You’re exceptionally moody today. You on your period?” I ask, and he finally cracks a smile.

“I thought it was offensive to say shit like that?”

“To women? Fuck yeah, it is. To you, though, it’s just funny,” I say as he stands from the wheelchair.

Grudge hands it back to the orderly, and we head for my car.

Grudge follows but says nothing as we bicker like usual.

“You’re a real bitch!” Hoodoo states with a smile, letting me know he’s joking.

Shrugging, I hike his bag up higher on my shoulder. “Yeah, so I might be, but I amsooofucking good at it.”

“Can we call in and get some Raising Cane’s on the way home? Hospital food was bland as shi—”

“Fuck no! You’re still in recovery. I’m not filling you up with grease.”
