I knew he was doing his best, but it was hard to shove down the little flares of rage when I thought of his history.

But she was trying to forgive him so I could do the same.

I was worried though, I couldn’t bear the thought of him hurting her again, and this posterboard stuff was a dangerous game to play with her right now.

And my fucking idea.

And she wasallover it.

“There’ll be more,” Rook was saying. “Jas told me we had a bunch of counter offers after the Dragon Hunters’ announcement.”

“Did you?” she asked, clear relief in her eyes.

“Yup. From all over. We could stay here on the East Coast, or there was one in California, Vancouver—”

“Canada?” she asked.

“We haven’t gone yet, but they’re massive on filming out there. We could go see the sights. I’ve got a friend who moved to Whistler last year and his parties are always awesome.”

“Like…” She swallowed. “With me?”

She glanced at me.

Rook frowned. “Well, I’m not going anywhere without you, so I’d hope so.”

“I can’t travel out of the country…” She trailed off, looking nervous.

“That all goes away with the princess bond.”

“Right. Yeh. I mean… I know that. I just…” She nodded, pushing the frown from her face as she looked back up at him.

“You’ll be able to go anywhere in the world,” he said. “Plus, I looked it up. There’s an action movie that will be filming across Europe and Asia next year. I checked and one of the places is Kathmandu, so I got Jas to put out some feelers—” He cut off as he caught her expression, her eyes wide as saucers.

“What?” Rook swallowed. “Are you…?”

“Yeh. I’m… I’m fine.”

My blood had turned to ice, though.

What was he doing?

“You would really go there with me?” she asked, looking between us.

I nodded with a shrug, though the smile on my face was fragile.

“Well, we have some other things to check off the list first,” Rook was saying. “Like the Pack Darling Part Two showing, and we’ve got to nail down your nest properly.”

She was nodding, her eyes bright as she stared at him as if she was seeing a brand new person. I was feeling somewhat the same, actually.

“Do you think the others will want to go to Nepal?” Vex asked, looking between us.

Rook waved a hand. “Love’ll be down the moment I tell him there’s monkeys. Then Ebony will be outvoted anyway.”

“Fuck yes,” Vex hissed, adjusting one of the monkey cut outs they’d pinned to the board.

The moment we got a second alone, I grabbed him. “Youtookmy idea,” I hissed under my breath.

“Show her yours then,” he told me.
