“You’re safe,” Love told me again. His touch brushed my cheek, calming me. “You’ve been given drugs while your hormones balance out, but you’re safe.”

I was safe. I was here with them. My mates.

But something was different…

I choked on a sob.

My dark bond was gone. In its place, I had a princess bond with my mates.

Only… one piece… it was on the brink of fragmenting—it had been, I fumbled for the connections around me, terrified until—

He was here. His bond wasn’t quite right, as if it had been broken and put back together, but he was here.

His scent was here with me.

Twilight grass. Close. Sometimes, in my more lucid moments I could feel him beside me in the bed.

Blackcurrant wine. Caramel and brandy. Vanilla winter. They were all there, too. And sometimes other scents, too. Firewood and jasmine.

The world faded in and out, time becoming meaningless, but I clung to him.

“…Will he live?”

That question tugged my consciousness to the surface.

Ebony…

They were talking about Ebony. The voices were echoes in my mind, faded and fuzzy. It was a struggle to grasp them.

“Live? Yes. But his place in the bond, I can’t be sure. It’s touch and go.”

“Is there anything we can do?” Drake… that was Drake’s voice. He was here.

“Just stay with them. As far as I can tell, she’s the only one holding him here. It’s impossible to know if his bond in the pack will heal, or if, when she lets go…”

No.

I wouldn’t. Not until I knew he was safe.

This pack… they were my new dream. I wouldn’t let it go.

Iwouldn’tlet him go.

Time blurred more, and I heard fragments of more conversations.

“…None of that pack survived. If they had, it was going to be bleak. Media got a hold of everything… We’re keeping them out. I’ll send you the statements to look over.”

“Thanks Jas.”

“Don’t mention it. Rest up. You’ve got a back-load of offers. The acting will be here when you’re ready to come back.”

“That will be up to her.”

Up to me? Was Love talking about me? I tried to consider that, but I was fading again.

“She’s gone through enough. I want to be sure when she wakes…”

“Her hormones are levelling out. It should be safe for her to take these. It’s a pill a day. It will keep it at bay until she’s ready.”
