“I love you, Lemon,” Jameson whispers against my lips.

“I love you, kid. You have no idea how much I love you.”

“Guess you’re going to have to spend the rest of our lives showing me.”

I nod, and then Jameson presses his lips against mine, really kissing me this time. My arms wrap around his neck, pulling his head down to me as I melt against him. His tongue slides into my mouth, and mine slides into his. I don’t know where he starts and I begin. I love this man, really and truly. More than I ever thought possible. And I know he loves me really and truly. He loves me more than I ever thought I would have.

When Jameson finally lifts his face from mine, he stares down into my eyes.

“I love you,” I whisper to him.

“Okay, okay, we get it,” Jarret shouts at us. “Break it up, so we can congratulate you already.”

“Shut it, Jarret!” I shout back at him before I burst out laughing. “I’m officially going to be your sister now, so you can just shut it.”

“You marrying me for me or for my last name, Lemon?” Jameson asks, grinning down at me.

“Ooh, hard to say.” I can’t stop smiling up at him. “One’s just a silver lining.”

“You gonna tell me which one?”

“Nope,” I whisper to him, as Jacks and Selena rush forward to hug and congratulate us. And then Jarret, Jasper, and Jensen.

Then my mom. “I’m so happy for you, Lilybear. I think you’ve got a good one here,” she says, squeezing Jameson’s arm.

“I do. I have the best one,” I answer, squeezing Jameson’s hand in mine.

Finally, Mr. Waters comes up. He hugs Jameson first and then me. “I’m so proud of both of you. You’re going to make me some beautiful grandbabies. And Lily, I’m not taking no for an answer on you calling me Dad anymore. You’re officially going to be my daughter now.”

“Okay… Dad,” I say softly, trying it out. Then I smile up at him. “That actually feels pretty great.”

Jameson grins and elbows Jasper in the ribs just because he’s standing closest. “I got Lily to finally start calling him Dad. How are the rest of you going to top that?”

“We’ll see who gives him the first grandchild, man,” Jacks challenges.

“I guess we will.” Jameson wraps his arm around my shoulders, pulling me close to his chest. “Lemon, you’re not going to let them beat us, are you?”

Rolling my eyes with as much drama as I can muster when I feel like a soggy, tearful rat, I stare at them one by one. “Is anyone going to ask Selena and me what we think about bringing a new life into this world, just to best your brothers and win daddy’s approval?”

Every single Waters boy shouts no around me. Every single one of them is an idiot. And I love each and every one.

But the way I love Jameson is something different. The way he makes me feel his love for me is something different.

The Waters have always been my family. But thanks to Jameson, they’re all going to be my family. Officially.

chapter sixty-two

lily

I’m not sure I can move. My whole body is officially melted candle wax. My fiancé just made me come for him three times. And I need a chance to recover. Holding my hand up high enough that I can see my ring, I stare at it against the ceiling of my bedroom. Everything about this is so perfect. The man. The proposal. The ring. Grams would have loved this. She was such a romantic.

Jameson plucks my hand out of the air and brings it to his lips before rolling over and lying half on top of me.

“Can I still move in with you, Lemon? Officially?”

I bite my lip, pretending it’s a tough decision. “I don’t know… now that we’re engaged, maybe we should wait until the wedding?”

“Yeah, that’s not fucking happening. Try again, Lemon.”
