“Bryce woke me up very early this morning. I made the mistake of leaving my work phone on, and he called me at seven-thirty a.m. to tell me that he needs to get in touch with you. Since he’s aware of the privacy rules of the agency when it comes to contacting the girls directly at their home, he asked me to track you down.”

“Why did he call so early? What’s so urgent?”

“He wanted to have flowers delivered to our agency, so I could deliver them to you.”

I’m stunned by Bryce’s sweet touch. Here I was thinking I had screwed up. “Where are the flowers?”

“They’re in the taxi. The meter’s running.”

“In the taxi? You didn’t want to grab the bouquet before ringing my bell?”

“Before I grab them, you do realize there are no florists open this early in the morning?”

“You’re right.” Wait. “What do you mean by them?”

“You have to see it to believe it. Bryce said you were such exceptional company, he hired a hotel staff member to run to a wholesaler and pay whatever it took to get flowers to you before nine a.m.!”

“What?”

“Darling, I don’t know what you did to the man, but he’s been hiring girls for years and I’ve never, ever, ever, ever heard back from him the next morning, unless it was to complain.”

“Wow! I’m speechless.”

“If you’re speechless now, you won’t be able to find your words when you see how many bouquets he sent you. But before you step outside, you need to get rid of that robe.” Todd waves a finger at me.

“Let me run upstairs and put some clothes on. I can’t stand the suspense any longer,” I say, as I climb the stairs two by two to jump into my jeans and a t-shirt.

Todd takes me to the taxi, and when he opens the door to the back seat, all I can see is a magnificent wall of flowers.

“They are so beautiful! Are they all for me? Are you sure, Todd?”

“Yes, all of these are yours, courtesy of a very happy client.”

It takes Todd and me at least twenty minutes to bring in all the flowers.

“He also wants you to have this.” Todd hands me a big box. “You better make yourself hotter than yesterday, because he’s booked you again—only a few hours after your first date. This is not the norm for most of our clients.”

“Are you joking me?”

“I never joke about my girls, money, or clients.”

“I can’t believe this. I was a bit nervous last night and I wasn’t sure how he felt about the evening.”

“I’ll say it again. You scored! I’ve got to run. Do me proud tonight and text me on your work phone to let me know everything is okay.”

“I’ll text you. I promise. Thanks for coming over so early and delivering these.”

“I don’t know what you did to Bryce, but girl, keep up the good work.”

When Todd leaves, I open the big box. There’s a smaller box that reads Open Me First. When I open the smaller box, there’s a little folded note.

‘You were delicious last night. I want a second serving of you. I’m hard thinking of your perfect breasts and hard nipples. Meet me at the hotel at the same bar at six-thirty tonight.’

Not bad for my first gig.

I unfold the tissue paper and gasp.
