I’m in Vegas, baby!

So much for being fully charged and ready to take on Sin City.

Bryce and I are lounging by the pool.

Well, I am.

My eyes drop to his trusted laptop.

While I was taking a siesta, he was working?!

The man needs to unplug.

I rest my sunglasses on the crown of my head. I stare down at my exposed tummy.

I’m twenty shades darker than I was when I first sat here.

“You didn’t sleep that long,” Bryce says.

I meet his gaze. “My skin feels like it’s on fire.”

He closes his laptop, removes his designer sunglasses, places them on a small table next to him, and focuses his attention on me.

Under the desert sun, his eyes are electric blue.

“I thought you had a base,” he borrows my words from earlier.

I flip to my side on the lounge chair. “I do, but the desert sun is scorching hot.”

“That’s why I kept my t-shirt on.” He pulls at it. “The other reason is I don’t own a sexy as fuck red bikini.”

“If you want, you can borrow mine.”

He shakes his head. “Nah. No one wants to see my body in a bikini. I don’t have mouthwatering curves to fill it in all the right places, the way you do. You were born to wear that bikini.”

“One of the blessings of being Latina.”

He nods. “God is good. Everything about you is all woman.”

My smile widens.

A passing waiter with a tray weighed down with scrumptious food catches my attention.

Like one of Pavlov’s dogs, my stomach growls.

I place a hand on it. “My tummy requires food.”

“Same. Let’s go back to our room, take a shower, and head out for an early dinner. We should get back to the room by eight.”

My brows dip. “Why?”

“I have a surprise for you.”

I sit up straight. “What kind of surprise?”

He taps the tip of my nose. “A surprise involves an element of mystery.”

“Can you give me a clue?”
