I walk on shaky legs towards my bag and pull out my compact. I run a hand over my hair to make sure it still looks decent and check on my makeup to avoid looking like I’ve just been fucked in public in the middle of the afternoon.

Who am I kidding?

My face is blooming like I’ve just been freshly fucked.

Oh, well. I tried.

It was so worth it.

“Ready?” He extends a hand.

I grab it. “I’m ready.”

We make our way down to the first floor of the restaurant as if nothing had happened.

“Mr. Van Der Linden,” the waiter stops us in our tracks, and my heart jumps in my throat.

Crap.

He knows what we were up to.

“Did your meeting go well?”

“Thanks for asking,” Bryce says. “Indeed, it was a fantastic meeting. We were able to hammer out so many important details in such a short period of time and come to mutual conclusions. Have a good afternoon,” Bryce says, as he grabs my hand and rushes us out of the restaurant.

“I told you, Amanda. Good things often come out of the unexpected. Had we not bumped into each other, I wouldn’t have been able to rock your world, and you wouldn’t have been able to rock mine.”

Chapter 4

Sofia

The ringing of my escort-gig-only phone wakes me up.

After a brief greeting, Todd jumps right to business. “Darling, I know it’s super early, but do you have something very formal to wear?”

“For an event with Bryce?”

“Who else? It’s like Mr. Van Der Linden has you on retainer.”

“You like calling him by his last name, don’t you?” Todd tends to keep it to, the client.

“He’s a gay man’s fantasy. Turning a hot guy like Bryce gay, would be a dream come true for me. Even for one night… But I’m not delusional. He likes women––you in particular. And you have assets he seems to favor––like tits and pussy––I don’t have.”

Todd’s secret crush on Bryce is quite funny.

“How formal are we talking about here?” I ask.

“The client said très formal!”

“I don’t have anything that matches that description in my wardrobe.” Not anymore, anyway. I had a few great selections, but I had to sell my best designer pieces to pay for basics like food, electricity, service for my phone, and the internet.

“You’re going to have to get something fast.”

“Okay.” I draw out the word.

Très formal means très expensive.

“Bryce says it’s another money-night gala, but this one is longer and packed with people who have a lot more money. It’s très black tie, apparently.”
