“Oh, so you’re giving me the silent treatment?” He shook his head. “Are you annoyed because I was on a date at the beach last night?”

“No.” I scoffed. Was he crazy?

“She didn’t mean anything to me.” He shrugged. “Plus, I didn’t know…” He moved his hands back and forth, and I just stared at him. Poor girl. There she was giving him a blowjob last night, and here he was dissing her the very next day.

“It’s fine.” I took a seat at the table and pulled out my leather-bound notepad and pen. “You don’t have to say anything to me.”

“If you say so.” He took the seat next to me, his thigh pressed close to mine as he stared at me. “I know this is awkward, but I just wanted to—”

“It’s fine.” I shook my head. I was going to take this class and not think about the fact that he was my ex-boyfriend’s brother and had advocated for us to break up. And I certainly wasn’t going to think about the fact that I’d pictured his face when I’d orgasmed the night before. “Can I just ask you a few questions?”

“Sure.” He nodded and leaned back. “What do you want to know?”

“Should I have anything ready for the class next week?” I chewed on the top of the pen and thought. “I really want to open a store and—”

“I know.” He grinned. “Duh.”

“What should I get ready for the class?” I said, more stiffly this time. He was unnerving me with his intense gaze. As I looked into his eyes, all I could think about was how he’d gotten even handsomer as he’d grown older.

“Maybe start thinking about business names.” He tapped his finger against the table. “And start scouting possible locations for the store so you can look up rents. It will be helpful to have some numbers at your fingertips already, but we will go over everything thoroughly in the class.”

“Okay.” I nodded. “That sounds good. How long does the class last? School starts back up in a month or so, and I have some classes on Monday mornings.”

“It’s a three-month class,” he said, his eyes studying my face. “But we do meet at different times, so you will get all the information and help you need.”

“Okay, great,” I said, watching as he opened his bag and pulled out a bunch of folders with his long, tan fingers. “I guess I should be going now, then. Before your other class starts.”

“Chelsea,” he said as I stood up. “Wait.”

“Yeah?” I asked him as I headed toward the door.

“Are we going to talk…” He licked his lips. “About everything?”

My eyes flew to his, and my heart raced. Was he really going to bring up our wrestling match now? And the fact that he’d encouraged his brother to dump me? Was he about to apologize? And did I want to forgive him? My face must have looked like a scramble of emotions, because he chuckled slightly.

“Fine,” he said, walking over to me and stopping right next to me. He looked down into my eyes and grabbed me around the waist and pulled me into him. “We don’t have to talk about the way you turn me on. Or the way you got me hard.” His breathing was deep now. “We don’t even have to talk about how wet you got.” He chuckled. “At least not right now. But one day…” He licked his lips, and then he leaned down and kissed me hard. I was unprepared for the feel of his lips against mine, but I had to admit they felt good. He pulled back before I could push him away, and he pressed his fingers against my lips. “We don’t have to say anything right now, Chelsea. But one day, we will have to discuss it.”

“I don’t think we have to,” I said, swallowing hard. I was embarrassed. He’d known I’d been wet when I’d been rubbing back and forth on him? He’d known I’d been turned on. I shouldn’t have been shocked. I’d known he’d been hard. I could still feel him pressed between my legs. I could still feel the way his hardness had felt against my shorts as we’d “wrestled” and I’d almost gotten myself off. “Have a great day,” I said quickly as I hurried out of the library, my face red. I couldn’t believe what had just happened. However, the biggest shock was that I’d enjoyed his kiss and the feel of him next to me. I was going crazy. I just didn’t know what to think. It didn’t seem to be a good sign for me and Travis if I was enjoying being touched by another man. It didn’t seem like a good sign at all.

“Igot into the class!” I exclaimed as I took a seat in the booth at Colorado’s Finest Beers, a local dive bar that my sisters and I loved. Polly, Harriet, Molly, Natasha, and Lily were already sitting there, drinking mango margaritas and laughing about something. “What’s so funny?” I asked as I grabbed a fry from the basket on the middle of the table.

“I was just telling Molly about your dare with Polly.” Harriet giggled. “And how she ended up kissing that guy who left his gum in her mouth.”

“Oh my gosh, that was hilarious.” I giggled and threw my hands in the air, pretending to ride a bull as Polly glared at me. “Anyone wanna ride the bucking bull tonight?”

“No, thanks,” Polly said quickly, which caused me to laugh even harder. “Max would not be happy if I made out with another random tonight.”

“You never know.” I giggled as I grabbed another fry. “So I need you girls to help me come up with a name for the store. That’s my homework for the class.” I’d already decided not to tell anyone that Chandler was the teacher of the class. I didn’t want to examine our evolving relationship or the feelings being around him stirred in me. I already had enough drama with my Travis situation. I didn’t need to complicate my life with questions about Chandler. I didn’t understand why he was bringing up our intense grinding session after so long. We’d never mentioned it when it’d happened. Granted, I’d still been dating his brother then. It felt a little bit icky to think about that fact. Was I a cheater first? Technically, I hadn’t really done anything, but I knew that Jacob had never made me feel that way before. In fact, Jacob had never gotten my panties wet once. Not even the time he’d pulled down my pants and attempted to rub me to an orgasm. I’d been dry as a bone and asked him to stop, and we’d watched a movie instead.

“Oh, how exciting.” Polly leaned back. “The Campbell Sisters?”

“No, that’s boring.” I laughed.

“The Darling Campbell Girls?” Harriet added, and I shook my head.

“What about HCP?” Lily offered. “The first initials of all your names?”
