“Nope, makes me think of Harry Potter.” I made a face. “Something fun and cute.”

“Port Sunshine Art & Books?” Molly offered, and I just shook my head.

“What about Nooks & Books?” I said, then sighed. “That’s not quite right.”

“Crooks & Books?” Polly asked, and we all shook our heads.

“Three Sisters Nook?” Harriet said, and I smiled slightly. That was the best suggestion so far. “Oh, by the way, Finn is back tomorrow. We’re having everyone over for dinner that can come. He hired a Michelin chef for the night.”

“That sounds yummy.” I grinned. “Will Max and Travis be there?”

“Yeah, most probably.” She nodded. “Why?”

“Just curious.” I shrugged nonchalantly. I was going to speak to Travis in person tomorrow. I needed to have a real conversation with him. I needed him to grab and kiss me, like Chandler had. I wanted to see if we had chemistry in person, aside from physical attraction.

“So you coming?” she asked as she finished her margarita. “Shall we order some more drinks.”

“Yes!” Polly said loudly, and we all laughed. A drunk Polly was always a fun Polly. I smiled at my sisters and my friends. I loved my little group. I always had fun with them. And they always made me happy.

My phone vibrated, and I looked down to see a text from Travis.“Wanna chat tonight? Around ten?”

I grinned to myself as I saw his message. This man really couldn’t get enough of me, and soon we’d be making everything official. At least, if I had anything to do with it.

My phone started ringingas soon as I walked into my bedroom.

“Hello,” I said breathlessly as I answered, dropping my bag onto the bed as I took off my shoes.

“Hey there, sexy.” His voice was deep and low. “What are you doing?”

“Just got home from the bar with the girls.” I sat down on the mattress and hiccupped. “I’m a little drunk.”

“Just a little?” He laughed. “Did you have fun?”

“So much fun,” I said as I unbuttoned my jeans. “Now I’m getting ready for bed.”

“Wish I was there to help you?”

“Oh yeah, why?”

“So that I could help you take your clothes off.”

“So you can see me naked?” I giggled as I pulled my jeans off.

“I wouldn’t say no to that.” He laughed. “I can’t lie.”

“I don’t like liars,” I said as I pulled off my top. “I’m lying here in my bra and panties now.”

“Are you trying to turn me on?” he growled.

“Is it working?”

“Yes.” He chuckled, and then he let out a deep sigh. “This is going to sound weird, but I look forward to our calls every day.”

“Me too,” I admitted. It was weird because I’d never had a relationship like this. I wasn’t even sure if it was a relationship we were in. “How was your day?”

“Good and bad.” He paused. “Again, this is going to sound weird, but this thing going on between us, it’s confusing.” He sighed. “I know we said that in person we were going to play it cold, but I think you can tell I’m failing.”
