“You know most parents wouldn’t apologize. You are such an ungrateful bitch. You think you’re probably living in some fairytale. This won’t last and at the end of the day all you have is me.”

Before I can retort the door opens behind me and Ru stands at my side. “Taurus go inside, please.” He orders and I don’t think twice about it.

I relax in Ru’s bed and wonder what is happening outside.

Chapter 13

Taurus

When Ru came back from talking to my mother, he didn’t say anything about it and so I didn’t ask.

“Lily is inviting us to a party she’s putting together,” Ru announced as he fiddled with his phone.

I raise a brow at him, “Are you sure she invitedusand not just you?”

He passes me his phone and the text read:

I’m throwing a get-together of all the friends. Nothing too big. Please bring Taurus so they stop thinking you're going to die alone.

-Lily

I snicker at the text. “Ru, what is wrong with you?”

He rolls over in the bed and pulls me close to him. “What do you mean?” He questions.

My head nuzzled into his chest, “Why do your friends think you're going to die alone?”

“Because I lived the bachelor life for so long. Honestly, I never thought I would want to settle down.”

I scoff, “So you must’ve been a very good player growing up, I’m sure.”

Ru smirks and chuckles smugly, “Of course I was. I don’t think that you would’ve liked me at your age. I wouldn’t know the first thing to do with a woman like you.”

“A woman like me?” I lift my head and glare a bit.

“A woman who goes through life with certainty. I would never have stood a chance against you.” He clarifies.

My eyes soften, “Does that mean we are equals now?”

Ru looks up and grins, “I’ll let you be the judge of that.”

I think back to Lily’s invitation, “Did Lily say how we should be dressed?”

Ru snorts out a small laugh, “Of course, that’s what’s on your mind.”

I intertwine his fingers with my own. “Maybe I’ll wear one of my designs.”

His free hand moves down the side of my body, “I don’t see why not. Lily’s parties are usually business casual, which are what your designs tend to lean towards.”

I move out of his grip so that I can climb on top of him. “And what will you be wearing?” I ask.

“You tell me.” He retorts. “I’ll be wearing whatever compliments what you’re wearing.”

Why does it sound so incredibly hot when he says that? A man that wants to match my attire is a hidden kink of which I was not aware.

“I’m going to look for something to wear and finish up some projects,” I say climbing off of him.

He groans as he forces himself to release me. “Fine.” He gets up from the bed. “I’ll be in the sewing room. Please don't go in there.”
