Kyro kisses the top of my head. “I will be busy for the next few hours. I’ll have them take you home. Don’t worry, I’ll set up some designers for tomorrow for your wedding dress.”

“Fine.” I agree, but I’m not going home.

Once I get into the car, I think about my plans for the day. Trey is there to keep Prince company, so he won’t want to hang out with me.

Hey, are you and your wife available for dinner?

-Reyna

You are quite the mind reader; we were just wondering where to go.

-Rowan

Well, I looked at a couple of spots, but I’m not the native you are. So, any place you guys choose is fine.

-Reyna

Rowan sends me an address to what looks like an upscale restaurant.

As soon as I reach the house, I get ready.

“Where are you going, mom?” Prince says from the doorway. I look and see him and Trey with comics in their hands.

“Dinner with some friends. I’ll be back soon. I’ll text you a picture of the menu. I’ll bring you guys back some food.”

Prince smiles, “Okay, have fun. Thanks, Mom.”

“Yeah, thanks, Ms. Reyna,” Trey says before walking back to Prince’s room.

My usual drivers take me to dinner, and I’m greeted by Rowan and his wife, Maeve, at a table.

“It’s so nice to meet you, Reyna.” His wife greets me. She’s beautiful, her hair is long, blonde, and straight, her eyes green, and her height tall, and leggy. “Rowan tells me you’re recently married.”

“Yes, my husband and I just got married and decided to move our family here to Miami. How did you guys meet?” I ask.

Maeve put her hand on Rowan’s. “Well, I’m from New York, same as you. I met Rowan right after high school. We hit it off and began dating. When my father moved the family to Miami.”

“That’s sweet.” I awe.

“So, Reyna, what was Rowan like in high school?” Maeve raises a brow.

“Well, more fun than he is now, bad at sports, school, and girls. It was honestly hard to watch.” I honestly reply.

She bursts out laughing. “So why didn’t you guys keep in touch?”

“Life, I guess. I met my first husband right after high school. I got pregnant with our son at eighteen, so motherhood took over. He passed away a year ago. Then, I met my new husband and got married again. Life is funny sometimes.” I tried to explain, shallowly.

Maeve puts a hand on my own. “I’m so sorry for your loss.”

“I’ll see him again one day.” I smile. “My new husband has been truly kind to me and my son. They clicked almost immediately.”

Maeve smiles, “That’s good. I’m happy for you. Next time we have dinner, let’s do a double date.”

I smile, opening my menu. “I would love that.”

When dinner ended, we got up to leave, and when I went outside, Kyro was standing there leaning against the car. He opens the door for me, and I step inside.

“How was your dinner with the pig?” Kyro asks. I squint my eyes in annoyance that he calls Rowan a pig because he’s a cop.
