“Mom, it’s something. It’s more than you knew before.” He whines.
“You are fired,” I grumble.
He looks at Kyro, and Kyro clears his throat. “I’ll teach you better ways to get information. You’re still learning.”
Prince smiles and nods. “Yes!” He cheers.
The jet takes us home after a couple of hours and Kyro tells me that he has some business to attend to. So, of course, I will go with him.

Governor Thomas is first on my hit list today. The governor is unfit to be my political puppet. His office is not far from me and so visiting him will put things into perspective quickly.
Security eyes me, but they do no better than to get in my way. They move out of my way to get to his office. When I open the door, Governor Thomas is there, but so is Maeve.
“Ky?”
“Mr. Novikov, what brings you here?” Thomas greets me.
I get straight to it. “Child rape and pornography.” His face becomes fixed to not show the shock on his face.
Maeve’s eyes widen with utter shock. “Ky, what the hell are you talking about?”
“Do you want your daughter to hear this?” I raise my brow.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He scoffs.
“One of my men had been raping young girls and distributing it. I took care of him, so no more films. I was even more surprised to see who the buyers were. A wire deposit was made to him through the account we used to fund you.” I go on, “My men are searching for the other buyers as we speak and wiping them from existence.”
Maeve looks at her father in horror. “W-What?! Is this true?!”
“No! Of course not!” He shouts.
I don’t have the patience for this. “Listen, I can’t have someone like you in power. So, you now have no worth to me. Therefore, you have two options: rot in prison for being a pedophile, or I can kill you, but don’t think it will be quick or painless.”
“Are you insane? In what world do you think I would take any of those choices—”
“Myworld. I run you, I run the mayor, hell, even the cops. So, if you try to get out of this, I’ll choose for you.” I smile mischievously. “You’ll hate my choice.”
“Who are you, Ky?” Maeve looked at me the way she did the day she ended things. A stranger she did not recognize.
I ignored her question and continued to wait for his answer. “I’ll turn myself in.” He finally answers.
“That’s boring.” I scoff before walking out to meet Reyna in the car.
“Ky!” I hear Maeve behind me.
She runs up to me and grabs my arm. “What the fuck is going on?!”
I hear the door open and Reyna steps out. “Remove your hands,” Reyna orders Maeve. “Don’t ever touch my husband again.” Her tone is completely threatening, and it’s making my body tense with excitement.
Maeve removes her hands and backs away. “I’m sorry.” Maeve apologizes. She then looks at me. “Did he really do the things you said he did?”
“Yes. I should kill him, but I gave him the option because he isyourfather. This is the last mercy I show him. If he doesn’t turn himself in by tomorrow. He’s dead.”
Maeve tenses up at my cold words.
“Don’t try to save him. This is your warning as well. I won’t be so nice next time.” I glare.
